I'm imagine the Infiltrator gets some kinda special move that does bonus dmg from stealth for stealth-like takedowns.
I could easily see Sentinel getting a cryo-bast punch thing. That'd be pretty sweet actually.

*sarcasm* Yes, because no military in their right mind issues knives or bayonets to their soldiers. */sarcasm*
Personally, I'd assume they'd build an extending blade into the forearm of military armours like the N7.

I'm guessing OP might have recently seen/rewatched the reboot of Star Trek, and Sulu's sword was fresh in mind.

I want to tear somebody's intestines out with my biotic punch, or just punch right through. I am hopeful for what they make the Adept instakill melee move.
I hope they come to their senses and remove any insta kill melee ability. It is just a really bad idea. Crap game play because someone thinks it will look cool is not a good exchange.

Um no military in their right mind uses either of those for combat. Virtually every country has removed bayonets and knives are not intended for combat except as a last, last, last resort.

Maybe. Or maybe its just because of: http://tvtropes.org/...Main/RuleOfCool

That too.
By the way, I love your sig. But you really should quote the whole thing, since the first rule is the most poignant.

Adept: telekinetic punch. You punch they go reeling back 30 or 40 feet.
Engineer: Bioware already said it would be a fire punch thing.
Infiltrator: Shiv. While cloaked or attacking from behind you can quickly stab the enemy making them lose health over time.
Sentinel: I actually like the techo kitana, though I would make it bio-tech. The benefit would be it deals massive damage to all forms of protection,
Solider: Meat shield. Basically using your enhanced strength you get to physically hold someone to use as a meat shield for a few seconds.
Vanguard; Tackle. You get to actually knock an enemy prone using a physical punched combined with some biotcs.

I doubt the apparent instakill moves will affect fully armored foes, even if stealth is a factor in it. So I wouldn't dwell on it too much, at first I didn't like the idea either, but there really isn't anything I could do about it, so I may as well go to it.

Actually... Thats not entirely true. The United states Army is still very much into the use and application of blade weapons.

As part of their default training and VERY specific circumstances sure. But no knives are not part of your approach to battle. It is more like this, your rifle is what you use in battle, your pistol is what you use in battle if you don't have your rifle, your knife is what you use to open your rations. While they still have a gun, you wont see soldiers using a knife outside of very unusual situations, and honestly if you are down to a knife the general suggestion is to surrender if caught alone.
