It is up to the writers really. The readers merely take a natural approach to the characters. Since nothing in Jarvia's personality has implied that she is bisexual, we can safely assume that she isn't. Of course, since it is one of thsoe small irrelevant things, the readers (gamers) are free to interpret it as they like, since it is unlikely to ever be picked up on.

You can safely assume what you like, really.

Indeed. In the case of Jarvia and other minor characters, which won't ever be as well-defined as the main characters. When it comes to the main characters you can't make such assumption as they will be clearly defined. Alistair is straight, and Leliana bi, for instance, to assume anything else would be wrong.

[sarcasm] Just wait for DA3. Suddenly Alistair will lick lampposts, winter or not,  to appeal to "a wider audience" [/sarcasm] :D

That's some funny sarcasm since I'm sure the 'everyone's bi' approach put off as many players as it appealed to.

Or at least net comic strips, forums, and the like for a month or more after release lead me to believe that.

You know I've never played Female Casteless before. It's my most used origin and they're all guys. I've done Noble Dwarf females before but never casteless female...so I have no idea.

No, it happens with any origin. It's right before the fight with her in A Paragon Of Her Kind: "Keep the pretty one alive! I have plans for her..."

I think it is closer to forced prostitution, since Jarvia was straight and all.

Bah, boring. Although why would one implied relationship with Beraht disqualify her from being attracted to women as well?

Jarvia says that to any Warden. Race and gender are irrelevant. Without Beraht, she's had to go without for a year now. Beraht was the only one that would go near her.

Isn't she doing Leske if you're a Dwarf Commoner?

don't know... never pushed my DC past Ostagar. Also, I really don't want to kill Leske.

True, having to kill him is a kick in the teeth.

Howso? I haven't played the dorf origins much, I really don't like them or the Dalish, so I haven't seen how it plays out. But as I read he just betrays you. Why is giving him the traitor's death he deserves a kick in the teeth?

I don't really buy that he would betray his own best friend like that because Jarvia made him her personal enforcer/bodyguard/second-in-command.

He's your friend. You could've said upon return that you were taking him to the surface. Why? Either for a better life or as a GW recruit. Would've made more sense because IIRC in the DC origin you could pose that same concept to Duncan at the very end.

Unlikley. The dwarves recorded no end to the darkspawn after any of the Blights.

True, but I take that with a grain of salt. Dwarven culture is made of stupid and anything they don't like is stricken from their "perfect" records/memories. Hence the dwarf noble origin.

I mean people are stupid, but I find it hard to believe that the surface races all thought the darkspawn defeated without them having checked the Deep Roads.

Well sure, but shouldn't the dwarves have been overjoyed to record a repreive in the endless darkspawn attacks?

I figured it was more about the general publics perception, rather than what everyone who investigated the matter thought.

But he is Jarvia's lover, bodyguard, and enforcer by the time we return. And those who play the casteless origin should know, anything and everything in order to survive. Survival is the only game played in dust town. Whether it's begging, noble hunting, or the carta. The choices are very slim.

how the hell does the DC betray him? Leske attacks, you defend. That's not betrayal. That's self-defense.

The DC destroys almost the entire orginization Leske has been building with Jarvia while the DC has been gone. Effectively destroying Leske's livelihood. You expect Leske to just walk away while you destroy his life AND threaten his lover?

Is it still betrayal if you kill/ defend youself against somebody who betrayed you first? It's Leske who lures you into an ambush. He is the one who innitiates his own downfall. Even after my DC Warden was happy to see him again. Even wanted to  forgive him his betrayal in Dusttown. He still attacked me.

Leske deserves it. I played DC as my first origin and I totally wanted to stay in Dust Town and build a new Carta instead of going with this Warden-thing to stop this 'who-carespawn.'

And when I brought it up with Leske he totally whines and ****es out of building a new Carta. And then we I come back to Orzammar lo and behold Jarvia's living the life my DC should have!

Why do thay have too rape a woman? If a woman willingly had sex with them, would she not still become a broodmother. Now I know must women wouldnt but what if one did.

It's not having sex with darkspawn that turns women into broodmothers. All that is required is they become infected with the taint. If a woman is infected with the taint, and becomes a ghoul she's eventually either die or mutate into a broodmother.

Either way, not pleasant. So if the Messenger saved your life and if you're female, you may potentially become a broodmother.

Not quite, turning someone into a Broodmother is a bit more complicated than simply being female and tainted, otherwise they would have forbidden female soldiers from fighting Darkspawn (I wonder why they haven't forbidden women from fighting the Darkspawn already, all it means is that you're giving them free Broodmothers if your female soldies get captured).
