And then come back later for I-told-you-sos.

I think we're probably going to get a total of four new guys.  This way, even the folks that killed everyone will have a squad of six.  Here's what I'd like to see:

1. We've already confirmed James Vega, who will apparently fill the "tank" role.  Now, since both soldiers and sentinels are very good at taking lots of hits, I don't think it's too far-fetched for him to switch powers depending on which VS survives.  If he's not our token redshirt, here's hoping he's bi.

2. I predict a new human female.  Gonna guess... bisexual infiltrator?  Pretty please?

3. Manly batarian engineer.  Not an LI.

4. Female turian vanguard.  Not an LI.

I'm just shootin' in the dark, here, but it's what I'm hoping for.

So, what do y'all think we're gettin'?

whoever the new squadmates are I think the overall number will go up contrary to what they said to us earlier, now that the same sex romances have come up they have said that things change mid development, so I think that we will have party size closer to ME2 now.

Well, a lot of Casey's comments as of late seem to imply choosing who to include to your squad--at least as far as my interpretation goes. I also doubt we're getting more than 6-8 squaddies this time around.

That might be how it works, but like he said things change mid development, it might be different now and be one huge party again. Or introduce non-squaddie LI's  as the new ones and be around 6-8, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I don't like batarians either. I enjoyed killing some of their colonies in Arrival. :3

If given the choice, I'd sacrifice the batarian race to save the galaxy. And I won't even feel bad about it. :P

The only good thing about batarians, is you get to have twice as much fun going mental with the salad fork.

Take him out and make it a Yahg engineering prodigy.

edit: Or one of those bird things that was announced on the Cerberus Network. I can't think of the name atm but for some reason I keep thinking about the arrakoa from Warcraft.

have you met a human :P
and some find it hard to like a race that has been written to conflict w/ ours just like the geth/quarians and salarians/krogans. I think not one batarian is going to fight for shepard and will side w/ reapers just to get back at shepard/ humans.

I think a batarian squadmate would be awesome. Think about the tension it would ne between Shepard. Especially if he/she's a colonist. There you would have the unique dialog for them.

And then later on in the game, you would get his loyalty and then ding dong you're best friends

A bi human LI of each gender seems possible at the moment yes.

They may introduce a new race too just to spice things up. Or something more different, kind of like Thane and Legion was in the ME2 crew.

A young rachni queen in a more humanoid larva form would be cool as I want to see more of that interesting race. LI however... Nah, the asari are enough tentacle smex for me.

Hmm really Iike the spread. Two humans, two aliens two of each gender, together all the classes. I can see the series never having a batarian on the team, some players hate them after all, though it seems they've been painted with such an overbearing stroke that we might be set up for one perhaps as a result of certain recent events. It's not like the Geth weren't equally facelessly evil. Though I might switch the Batarian and Turian jobs or even make him an infiltrator (if you joining forces with one, I'm guessing he's a member of their special forces so a sniper/agent might make sense).

Still holding out a half mad hope that the Kryptonian will be included, probably as an engineer (incinerate and cryoblast just make too much sense. Though replacing the other powers with Charge, Adrenaline Rush and Tech Armor to represent certain physical advantages might make him/her overpowered.

Though really, the idea the 3rd part of a trilogy is a good jumping on point for anyone...

Racism and hyper-nationalism trumped by brotherly love!  Epic win!

Bird guys right?

I seem to remember the Aarakocra of D&D way back when it WAS D&D. That was in 1981 or 82 as I recall. WoW's taken that too huh?

I agree completely. Shepard wouldn't trust the batarian at all in the beginning but then he builds up his friendship and they begin trusting each other. I would absolutely love to see it develop in the game. Maybe he even could save Shep from a close call:D
