I am pretty sure that women served with some irregular troops in certain countries but in most nations, official guards, police or warrior nobles were posts exclusive to men and even there, most men were not fit or chosen to be those. Combat training was very restricted to a very minor % of population. It looks nothing like DA2 world.

We already played FF7.
I'm bored of WRPG developers re-using JRPG elements from 1991 and being pleased with how "new" and "bold" it is.
Seriously, the "ability interaction/combos" in DA2 are straight out of Chrono Trigger.
Only in CT they are easier to understand and activate AND FUN!. In DA2 it's such a cluster F that by the time the AI activates a combo, something else has happened and that Ninja is dead and 10 ,more spawned.

Feminine =/= sexy,
just as, sexy =/= revealing.
I for one enjoy the fact that the female characters look feminine without having to sex them up (cough*Teraonline*cough). Even Isabela is dressed for practical adventuring. You can tell how sexual she is by how she carries herself.

Oh right... I think there were like 1 or 2 women ever known to have openly carried weapons and weared armour? Like Joan of Arc?
You are so ignorant it physically hurts. No wonder you want your character to prance around in her underpants. Is math just too hard?
Books are good for you, mmkay?
Ok sir, you who seem to be so knowledgeable, please by all means point me toward these books and historical facts who are proving that multiple women were ever officially admitted into knighthood, roman legions, spartans, samurais or what not.
I am sorry but facts are that medieval warfare wether in asia or europe was not very woman-friendly. There was no equality of gender during that time. Red Sonya is super cool but she remains a myth like most women in arms.
Of course, prove me that i am wrong.
Ok I'll give you 10 real female warriors names, do more search:
1)Gudit 960 AD
2)Triệu Thị Trinh 225 AD
3)Boudicca 1st Century AD
4)Trưng Sisters 1st Century AD
5)Artemisia I of Caria 5th Century BC
6)Fu Hao 1200 BC
7)Ahhotep I 16th Century BC
8)St Joan of Arc 15th Century AD
9)Zenobia 3rd Century AD
10)Tamar of Georgia 13th Century AD
English is not my first lenguage but yeah I do read alot about everything

Man, do you know how refreshing it is to NOT have a game have women running around half naked? I am of the female gender, and I tend to like my character to be covered. There are plenty of mods you can download on the PC. Just because we're a minority doesn't mean we don't exist. It would be like having your male character run around in shoulder plates, boots, and a g-string. It's not something you want to see.
I'm a female player too, yes I want my character to be dressed up for battle and More expose skin in romances, but this guys are doing it wrong.. rofl, to battle naked, sex full dressed.. well now we know why there are no childrens in kirkwall

I may be a male i am an old fart 65 years old i have played this game from both sides i also agree there should be a bit more femine attire its like doing away with all of the ladies apparel shops and and having to buy mens clothes for both sexes
Which would be great, if you weren't going into battle. The people around Kirkwall are dressed in proper clothing. The further back in time you go, the more covered up and less feminine women's clothing actually become. At one point, in American history, 'ankle' was considered risque.

And when talking about real medieval era, i am not trying to diminish the part that women have into it nor dismissing the facts that they could actually have been decent warriors or even the best of them. I am just saying that for many reasons, it simply did not happen or it was exceptional and far from being a common occurence.

As a woman I can certainly see the appear of chainmail bikinis but I really don't want to see them on a badass fighter as that just seems silly! And while i understand armour has evolved a lot why would someone fight in basically their underwear when they could protect themselves so much more in a full body set?

Perma companion death? /sigh just more confirmation that they are busy trying to make FILMS and not games and worry about the "emotional impact" of a character death.
NPCs have to be throw-away figures, or you have to design a ressurection mechanic. Either that means a new lore (and death was more a pain and a matter of not running out of gold or the corpse in D&D until you got ressurection) or you have throw-away characters that can't be well development.
