LIKES:
1. Faster paced movement and combat speed. Going back to DAO now feels slow and clunky.
2. New streamlined UI. LOVED IT!
3. The new Skill Trees were awesome.
4. More interactive cut scenes with Hawke actually talking (verses your silent character in cutscenes in DAO).
5. Inventory management was a lot easier.

DISLIKES:
1. No sense of purpose. In DAO you were trying to stop the Blight and save the world. In DA2 you just run around doing dirty jobs for cash until, in the end, the world goes to sh*t anyway.
2. Serious lack of complex story arcs. 90% of the time just felt like an errand girl. Hey, I killed some dudes, so give me some money.
3. Didn't really bond with my companions, in fact, disliked most of them or found them unattractive. Lack of any appealing romance options. The only character I really found attractive was male Hawke... and I can't exactly have a romance with him when I'm playing female Hawke. Duh!
4. Not being able to craft (or order) stamina/mana potions.
5. Disappointed in the ending and all the loose ends. Really was looking forward to fighting Flemmeth again... or some other big bad dragon.

Sorry I just have to squeeze in one more dislike. Because I forgot about it but it is important:

Hate the tiny maps that all look exactly the same and the over-use and re-use of them. If I had to go through one more identical warehouse map I was going to lose it!

How'd you manage to leave out the recycled areas in your DISLIKES list?
Agree with all others though.

Because it was super late and I was tired. I posted it in my second post though. ;)

Your #1 in the "DISLIKES" made me laugh, just the way it was worded. I normally don't find amusement with ad hominem, but it fit so well.

LIKES:
1. Faster paced movement and combat speed. Going back to DAO now feels slow and clunky.

I think they over did it a little bit, thinks get so franatic in big battles it is tough to appreciate the combat moves.

2. New streamlined UI. LOVED IT!

I'd have to go back to DAO to compare but I had no big like or dislike of the UI

3. The new Skill Trees were awesome.

Agree, I liked the skill trees.

4. More interactive cut scenes with Hawke actually talking (verses your silent character in cutscenes in DAO).

Agreed, although many people do not like voiced main characters I happen to like them and I think that is now the standard, at least for BioWare games.

5. Inventory management was a lot easier.

Agreed, much better though the 'junk' stuff was pretty useless, either have reasonable descriptions of the junk (like gems and such) or just leave it out and give the player gold.

DISLIKES:
1. No sense of purpose. In DAO you were trying to stop the Blight and save the world. In DA2 you just run around doing dirty jobs for cash until, in the end, the world goes to sh*t anyway.

I felt a sense of purpose on a few fronts, 1) to get my family out of the poor house and 2) to try get rid of the Qunari and 3) Do something about the mage/templar situation.  All three of them were hampered though to some extent by forced outcomes.  A funny thing is that MANY people have been complaining over the last few years about the exact thing you are saying is desireable, being the world saving hero.

2. Serious lack of complex story arcs. 90% of the time just felt like an errand girl. Hey, I killed some dudes, so give me some money.

Like all rpgs it certainly had it's share of fetch it quests no doubt about that but I think you are shorthchanging some nice quests they did have such as the Aveline romance one, Ketojan etc.

3. Didn't really bond with my companions, in fact, disliked most of them or found them unattractive. Lack of any appealing romance options. The only character I really found attractive was male Hawke... and I can't exactly have a romance with him when I'm playing female Hawke. Duh!

The lack of romance beef is fine because people in real life are often very particualr as to who they will romance.  I think you are a bit wrong about the companions.  There are a few bland ones but these are some of the best companions in any BioWare game for changing in relation to you and other companions during a game and having legit feelings and opinions about each other and the player.

4. Not being able to craft (or order) stamina/mana potions.

I like crafting as it is, but that is just a personal preference, I've never liked detailed crafting in single player games.  If a person likes to craft then you certainly have a legit beef.

5. Disappointed in the ending and all the loose ends. Really was looking forward to fighting Flemmeth again... or some other big bad dragon.

The ending was slightly disappointing for a couple of reasons but this being a non spoiler forum, they shouldn't be discussed here.

LIKES
1.) Voiced main character
2.) Better character models (but still bad by comparison to its contemporaries)
3.) I liked the idea of it. Moving through time instead of space, effecting the world (unfortunately it didn't feel that way at all). Excellent idea...
4.) The voice acting in general was very good.
5.) The added cut scenes were good.

DISLIKES
1.) THE CITY was horrible, no character, no attention to detail, just one big blob. It didn't change over time, the NPCs (of which there weren't many) were in the same spots for 8 years and most didn't speak.
2.) The MENU SYSTEM was so bland and functional. Again a total lack of love, care or attention to detail.
3.) COMPANIONS were cool but you hardly ever got to have meaningful interaction with them. They really didn't feel like part of my team like was the case in ME and DA:O.
4.) DECISIONS seemed to have absolutely no meaningful impact on the state of the game. Typified by the final battles.
5.) The lack of emotional pull in the story...

1. Political aspects to the conflict
2. Having a proper home base and family connections
3. Specific companion skill trees
4. The Black Emporium
5. Superior character models and animations.

DISLIKES

1. Recycled environments
2. Player choices lack impact on major outcomes
3. The de-emphasis of rogue stealth and tactical positioning.
4. Boss fights are WAY too grindy.
5. Many quests driven by map markers, not by in-game characters or events.

Likes:
1. Great Story & Characters. I like that the writing disregards some old conventions.
2. The gameplay is fun. Diverse, quick and deep.
3. The character system is more flexible
4. Crafting is a feature, not a task. Hated collecting plants
5. Friendship/Rivalry is a good idea.

Dislikes:
1. What where the level designers thinking? Recycling is bad.
2. Loot is good, but the amount of jewelry you find is to much.
3. Friendship and Rivalry should be measured on two seperated scales.
4. Two attribute requirements on armor severly hurt some builds.
5. Bugs.

1. Voiced Main Character
2. Skill tree in general ( but wish Warriors could spec in bows )
3. Most companions are interesting and had lot of potential
4. The crafting system with the rare resource treasure hunt
5. Skill animations in general and fluidity of the combat ( too fast however at times )

DISLIKES

1. Recycled environments
2. Skill tree or companion classes lacking options ( only Anders as a healer, etc... )
3. Inventory and companion customization ( I want my companions be able to equip gear i find )
4. Lack of item description and variety ( finding way too many Ring, ring, ring , ring, ring... )
5. Lack of interactive environment ( empty city with NPCs you cant discuss with )

BIGGEST DISLIKE

Combat Tactic completely gone FUBAR because of the attack wave system, the always surrounding and sneaking from behind enemies and the overall too fast pace of fights. Nice animations we never get the time to admire because it goes too fast. And the exploding bodies all around... That is ridiculous. How come a rogue with dual daggers makes bodies explode everywhere?

2. New crafting!! love it please keep!! Hated to carry herbs and flask and...
3. The new Skill Trees were awesome. Mage new spells are very nice!
4. More interactive cut scenes with Hawke actually talking and walking, cut scenes are great in general.
5. Inventory management was a lot easier.

DISLIKES:
1. No sense of purpose. In DAO you were trying to stop the Blight and save the world. In DA2 you just run around doing dirty jobs for cash until, in the end, the world goes to sh*t anyway.
2. If you select helping mages, you don't get to power.
3. Not able to talk to LI when ever I want.
4. Not having the option for DW warrior.
5. Disappointed in the ending and all the loose ends. I was hoping that siding with one of the faction will result on fighting the other, not both. Thas really bad ( for me)

1. Isabella Image IPB  Gotta love a woman that oozes sexual innuendo in video games.
2. New Skill tree system.
3. New inter-party Banter.

uhhhh.....Can't come up with anything else.

Dislikes:

1. Level reuse.
2. Enemies always attack. Allies always attacking. No alternate resolutions.
3. An utter lack of logic to NPC character motivations.
4. Walking around with default stick on your back. Ruins screenshots and looks stupid.
5. "Its a Trap !"  Yeah thanks Izzy, you could have said something sooner?

For me.........

Likes

1. Improved combat pacing
2. Main character voice over
3. Involving several of the old chars from DA/Awakening
4. More companion quests
5. Time spread across several years

Dislikes

1. Repeated use of dungeons/caves, etc and one static game area, with no change of seasons or scenery
2. lack of/simplified level up/abilities....dare i mention removing my Dual Wield Warrior ?
3. Forced/funneled end game choice
4. No proper epilogue or follow up to all the loose ends
5. The ability to have 2 weapon presets IE bow and sword tabs with skills.

One other massive dislike that i remembered is the removal of finishing moves.......those made the game truly epic.

2. Sebastian and his quest line.
3. Aveline.
4. Er... they kept the ability to distribute stat points.
5. ,,,

DISLIKE:

1. Passive dialogue
2. Terrible paraphrasing that seems to come from a completely different script than the acutal dialogue
3. Most of the companions. A bunch of a-holes. Especially Isabela, Anders and Fenris.
4. Pointless framed narrative device with stupid and immersion breaking time skips.
5. Unbelievably idiotic charcter actions made to get the (railroaded) plot rolling.

1. Companions. Not as great as DAO (I loved Wynne and Zevran and Shale) but still pretty great.
2. Concept was great. Penniless immigrant to Viscount/Champion over years.
3. Friendship/Rivalry system was nicely done and I LOVED that it unlocked special abilities.
4. Unique companion trees was excellent. Removed that "make Wynne a blood mage" issue.
5. Very nice artwork and some areas were beautiful, just not enough places to go.

Dislike:

1. Kirkwall's static nature over the course of the game.
2. Reused environments.
3. Quest branching meaningless as outcome of game already decided.
4. Family members handled poorly, why kill one and keep the other out of the party for the majority of the game. No skill trees for them? The mother may as well have been a painting.
5. Mage Hawke and Templar Hawke (and blood magic) having no noticeable plot outcome on a game about Mages v Templars. (see sig)

Like
1. New Talent Tree Organisation.
2. Better Combat/Movement speed. Not as crucial since I pretty much always ran with perma-Haste in DAO which solved pacing wonderfully.
3. Varric, Merill & Iseabella in that order, all the other NPCs were a step down from DAO.
4. ????
5. ?????

Dislike
1. Hawke, net loss of character choice for no real gain in character depth.
2. Anders, who will now die when ever I replay DAA, thanks for trashing a perfectly good NPC Bioware.
3. Idiotic railroaded plot, which Hawke is not even crucial too.
4. Re-used maps.
5. Tedious fights made only worse by the lack of isometric view, waves for mooks and absurd grindage for bosses.
