tez19 is actually somewhat right on this one. It's highly unlikely that a PC exclusive will win that many Game of the Year awards as most of the industry rags are console driven. Basically, they pander to the console audience. While I have no doubt that PC Gamer and so forth will be more inclined to give The Witcher 2 the attention it deserves I wouldn't expect it from IGN or GameSpot.

This just convinced me to create an account on metacritic and comment both DA2 and TW2. I didn't like DA2 and I'm sure I'll like TW2 (I'm playing the first one at the moment). My reviews will be toughful though, not trash.

Time will tell. If any gaming portal limits itself to one type of platform, it's plain stupid and unfair. 

Anyway, my personal GOTY is LA Noire.

I couldnt care less who posts reviews on metacritic tbh, that sites user reviews are just a rabid fanboy/nerd rage fests.

What i do care about though is if the users have written what i call proper reviews. No game is perfect 10/10 imo. If the user has played the game and didnt like it, fair enough but atleast state why and give it a proper score. Same for those who liked it.

/me waits for the postman with his TW2 copy.

True. However, a console version of TW2 later this year is a given. Whether that's as awesome as the PC version remains to be seen.

CD Project Red does good work indeed. My initial hesitation re: TW2 was gone when I was 10 minutes into Prologue. I won't love DA2 any less for it though. And I'm still waiting for ME3 to hit the shelves.

Well in my opinion it will still not be enough to topple the Behemoth that is Elder Scrolls, Bethesda just have to much influence with a game as big as that for a little known developer to take GOTY. Sorry but it is the truth.

I don't think they're little known anymore. The Witcher 2 is everywhere and people are raving about in on every single forum. I think they've proven that they're more than capable of playing with the big boys of the industry. That said, The Elder Scrolls does have a tremendous amount of brand recognition working for it. I agree that it's highly unlikely for The Witcher 2 to usurp it unless Bethesda manages to screw it up badly. If they do, CD Projekt RED is absolutely golden.

I thought we'd all get used to it by now...about entire gaming industry and gamers being plain stupid, unfair and nasty. Nevertheless people are free to express their opinion, of course it's always difference If you think LA Noire is GOTY it's GOTY for you, and If they think The Witcher 2 is GOTY it's GOTY for them...it's personal as for official GOTY it just something that most players agree.

The game does not does not deserve that many 10 scores. I also highly doubt it deserves those 0 scores. Its just bloc voting by certain groups/forums. Loads of people want to show that TW2 was better than DA2, so they give a 10 score to give their opinion more weighting. The same in reverse. The website has epically failed in regard to both TW2 and DA:2. When Skyrim comes out, there will be thousands of 10 scores regardless of the game's actualy quality, and probably tens of thousands when MW3 comes out. Its no longer about the game, its about the associations that go with the game.

Ok. Couple of things.

1 - This is not a BioWare employee, no matter what the person who wrote the article claims.

2 - Yes, last time it was a well meaning BioWare employee who reviewed our own game. It is not this same person.

3 - This is not Dragon Age II related, so this gets closed.

4 - Personally, I loved The Witcher and will be getting to Witcher 2 once I whittle down this stack of games on my desk. I hope it is even better than the first game.
