What is it with you guys and forcing players to sit through interminably long start scenes?

[/quote]

On PS3 you can just hit the square button to skip through it pretty quick, and it'll stop at the decisions. You can go through it in like 3 minutes.

However, I will agree, I've played through ten times already and I DO NOT want to hear Miranda and the Illusive Man again.

Don't feel singled out Mr. Crichton. I'm American as well. It was a generalized statement : )

Haha, "Mr. Crichton". I have several people on the BSN calling me something to that end. It's pretty hilarious... and more than a little awesome.

The Season 2 freakout scene on the exploding cargo transport was the best freakout scene in the history of television.

*Waves arms about frantically*

Oh yeah, now we're talking. Heck, five or six of my top twenty-five television moments (as if I actually have a list... or maybe I do!) are from that show. So good.

Farscape's making its way into DLC threads on gaming websites. Farscape lives! :bandit:

It's dead dude. Claudia Black is getting older, and, well the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series was freaking horrible.

Edit: But yeah, Farscape is the pinnacle of Cheesy Sci-fi. (complement)

As for being unfair to charge 360/PC players, they still have the option to import their save files from ME1.

Yes. For something that should be included in the basic Cerberus Network pack, it's bordering robbery.
On the other hand, most of us have played the first game several times, and won't use it anyway.

Actually, nearly all the gibbed edits take up 3-5 minutes all transfer time included. The only time you'd need to take longer is for sitting through the actual intro if you're making a brand new shep, which is something you'd only need to do once a playthrough. You can actually start a new game, save immediately after you wake up in the med bay, and save this particular save file for modding.

Look at all the Farscape love. I'm going to have to say something on-topic and witty in order to avoid having people come down on me for changing the tone of the thread pretty soon, but I don't want to!

At any rate, I didn't think TPW was horrible. I didn't think it was as good as chunks of the second, third and fourth seasons, but apart from some very questionable moves (Sikozu? Who's-the-father Grayza!?) it did a decent job wrapping threads up. Unfortunate that you didn't enjoy it.

And Claudia Black getting older... well, I wasn't really suggesting more seasons at this point, anyway, but a time-skip with the proper writers at the helm could be better than it sounds, I suppose. For now I'm just content to hear the 'radiant Aeryn Sun' every time I talk to a certain quarian admiral; she totally went for that vibrant voice in that role. Matriarch Aethyta, though... knowing that's Black is odd because she went for something else altogether.

Ahem, back on-topic!

"Mass Effect Genesis is likely largely skippable on the 360 as well if you tap a button to reach the pivotal decisions and ignore the rest! See also the PS3 version that Bearcut and I have some experience with!"

Well, it wasn't witty but it reiterated something relevant.

Off Topic Fear: Grayza just got fat dude and they wrote it into the script, lol.

On Topic: Stop being cheap, the comic is the quickest way to get multiple playthrough changes!

Actually, yeah, you're right about Grayza. She got pregnant but they didn't want to re-cast. You'd think they'd have found a better arc for that, though, but oh well...

I hit the ground running with my lieutenant, Kaidan Alenko. A good kid.

I made a thread on this exact issue and got the answer that a Gibbed edit only takes ME1 edits into consideration if it's used as a new game. The end result of this is that you have to create a Shepard. Edit your ME1 decisions. Save it with "LivedToFightAgain" checked in the Raw tab. And then start a new game using this Shepard as an ME2 import.

That is then two intros you have to sit through.

THIS

The gibbed editor allows us to customize our imported characters ME1 experience without the burden of playing through all 30+ hours of the first game.

The better solution would be for bioware to I don't know.... Not corruprt our gibbed save files when they are imported into ME3.

I'm not

...Yes, we know Bioware has the right to chose whether to sell it or not. But this really doesn't help when people are already noting how Bioware is changing into something we fear. I'm disappointed that Bioware had an opportunity hand out free DLC as a sign of good will but didn't because... IDK... why NOT give it out for free? I think the good will be more beneficial than the sales of a comic that can easily be replaced by the likes of masseffectsaves.com or Gibbed Editor. ;P

Then you are not being creative enough, I have never sat through 2 intros in order to use Gibs to do my saves.  You could've downloaded a Mass Effect 2 save from the net and then edited it that way and do a new game + .  Alternatively if you already had a Mass Effect 2 save game you could make a copy, rename it, edit it and start a new game plus.  You don't have to use Mass Effect 2 to create a new save game every time.

I have a male shep and fem shep ME 2 playthrough when I want to do a new playthrough with new decisions I simply make a copy of which ever gender I want to play through.  I rename the folder and then run it through gibbs making all the changes to the ME 1 decisions I like.  Then I start ME 2 and do a newgame + and bingo I only have to sit through 1 intro.

The problem I have with this comic is not necessarily that we have to pay for it.  I remember posting that I didn't have a problem with paying for the comic but that it should be released on the PC/360.  The problem I have is that they are asking for £3 for something that is so basic, with no substance and is actually worse than what can be done with some basic free tools.

Now had this comic been something of substance (say 45 - 60 mins) and given you the opportunity to alter a large number of decisions then yes it would have been worth £3.  However to offer a 15 min comic that only lets you alter 6 decisions is a rip off and should've been offered to the ME community for free as part of the Cerberus network as it is on the PS3.

Seems like this would have been perfect to offer as a Cerberus Network download if you ask me.

@JeffZero: Love Farscape, one of my favourite shows of all time. Named a Shepard after Aeryn, another Shep uses a Pistol religiously and has named it Winona etc. So so underrated. I seem to remember they wanted to do a webseries at one point but it fell through. :(

Doesn't really matter that TPW was weaker than some of it's other series, it was still leagues ahead of most other sci fi at the time. I wouldn't describe it as cheesy either, it had cheesy moments but the show itself was much more than that.

Of course not, but you miss the point. If thousands of consumer buy these, Bioware (or EA) starts to make quite a bit of money. But then, do you only use your money for video game DLC? It may not be that much, but add all those worthless weapon/armor paid DLC, the expansions, ALL the other more or less worthless DLC packs for other games, real games, and it starts to be quite expensive. I used to buy pretty much everything for every game I had back when I first got my 360 when it got out, but I soon stopped because the quality wasn't there and it was damn expensive. To think we could get expansion packs for 20-30 bucks, packs which had more content than any DLC ditched out nowadays for a game put together, and by far. How much does every ME2 DLC costs? And what do you really get from that? Not much. DLC is such a cash-in. It's easy to make it more expensive than its worth, people don't notice it if you ask them only 2 bucks for a couple of weapons, but it's in fact VERY expensive. Multiply that by 10 and you could buy a freaking expansion pack with 3 times that number of weapons plus oh so much more. Not only is DLC expensive, but tid-bits like these can't be added together, they act on their own and can't offer as much as if they were part of something bigger.

So 320 points for a ****tyshort mini comic? No thanks. I'll buy myself a beer instead, or something. At least my beer will last longer and be more enjoyable.

I don't know if I'd download this crap if it were free, maybe for lawls. The comic was terrible. Krogan on Eden Prime, good kid Kaiden, no Feros, no mention of Geth, etc. I felt bad for PS3 owners that had to learn about ME1's plot from that pile. I'll be damned if buy this so Bioware thinks this level of fail will suffice for the inevitable ME2 intro comic for ME3.

This.

I have 3 Shepards created by the save game editor and they all work well.
