Charging for this is counter-intuitive considering that Xbox owners can create save files that they can then load back into their games (pretty long process I believe). Also PC users have it so easy if they want to change stuff up. It takes maybe 5 minutes on top of the 15 for the opening to conclude. There's even a site up now that can alter parts of your file so you don't have to load the save as a new game.

Sure it's great value, that is if you can overlook the careless/stupid story omissions that were made in it. Keys points that should have been made, like WHO was attacking Eden Prime with Saren, i.e. the Geth, was not even mentioned, plus not a single word made of the fact that Shepard NEEDED the Cipher from Shiala and the Thorean on Feros to not only help make sense out of the visions from those Prothean beacons but to finally FIND Saren and the Conduit on Ilos. Honestly, I was extremely disappointed in Bioware when I finally saw it. I bought the XB360 but decided to support Bioware by buying the PS3 version as well and it was a bit of a downer. I hope that whatever form the "story so far" sequence takes in ME3 it is a better execution than the farce that ME: Genesis was. Unfortunately, fans both new and old will notice these things and can be damaging. So please Bioware don't be so prideful as to not admit these problems to at least yourselves and make the same mistakes twice. It is hard to see such a good and well established company make such simple but damaging mistakes.

So they make it free to people who actually need it and would ACTUALLY be willing to pay for it

But the people who can already play the full version of the game even thought its very very hard to find it right now have to pay for a 15 minute long awful comic that importing it gives very few gameplay bonuses.

WTF Bioware?

I can see both sides of the issue, but frankly it doesn't matter to me that they're charging for it. We got to play ME1, PS3 users didn't. That makes us the winners and them the losers in this exchange as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see why you care, I really don't.  I always import my ME 1 Shepards to  ME 2 and I always feel like I am shortchanging myself if I don't run my Shepards through ME 1 first.  So I don't really need the comic,  with that said if they want to charge you for it then it is their right and their perogative, it is their product afterall.

All the ME1 history choices will take effect after leaving Lazerus Station,

I made a thread on this exact issue and got the answer that a Gibbed edit only takes ME1 edits into consideration if it's used as a new game. The end result of this is that you have to create a Shepard. Edit your ME1 decisions. Save it with "LivedToFightAgain" checked in the Raw tab. And then start a new game using this Shepard as an ME2 import.

That is then two intros you have to sit through.

Actually if you use this editor which is a modified Gibbs editor then it takes effect on your current play and even fixes things like Conrad Verner not being able to see paragon from ME1.

http://social.biowar...m/project/4373/

So all you have to do is the intro and then you can change anything you want on your current play to suit as you like.

Well, I just bought it. As much as I like ME1, I don't feel like playing it every time I want to make a new character and I'm not going to start messing with my Xbox to modify save games.

320MSP is definitely quite steep but put in perspective; that's still not as much as a KFC meal. Not a big deal.

I had KFC for dinner tonight, but I ddin't buy Genesis.

When I see posts by people complaining about this, I don't see words. I see cabbage farts in text form.

Like Priestly said, don't buy it if you think it's a rip off. No one is twisting your arm.

I have to ask, is the comic optional after install? Sometimes I'll want to import ME1 games, and sometimes I'll just fancy a game of ME2 with the comic.

I'll still be able to import and skip the comic, right?

I hope you are being sarcastic, they have a right to charge you for their product.  If you don't like it then don't buy it.

No I wasn't. I also have the right to an opinion. And I think if they're gonna make it available to PC and 360 it should be free or it shouldn't be available at all.

Someone sounds like they have a sense of entitlement, the world doesn't work that way, if you want something you have pay for it that is the way the world works.

So four bucks then?

Edit: Man, thats like a milkshake. People are weird with their spending habits. "Ill go out and spend 50 bucks on a steak but four bucks for a comic! SCREW THAT"

That's a ridiculous argument. Don't buy a car then, that way you can have LOTS of DLC! Plus, you seriously spend $50 for a steak? Really?

It is for PC as well, but you still have to pay for it. Just use the save game editor.

So I just went threw this buying it not being a big issue to me, But what annoys me is some of these story are well wrong no matter what shep you were. Tali a Fugitive? She was never a fugitive, she was on the run from assassins =/.

I am neither enthused or disappointed by the decision, but if Bioware wanted to give 360 and PC owners what PS3 owners received, Terminus Armor and a Blackstorm would have sweetened the pot considerably.

Would I be able to use this with a New Game+ Shepard? I played through ME2 with a friend; she loves it, but can't stand ME1. The comic might be useful to give her a nice recap and to resurrect Wrex (didn't do much in ME2, but he might be pretty awesome in ME3) and put Anderson as Councilman (conflicted, since Admiral Anderson doesn't have to deal with bureaucracy and might be more useful in ME3 in the Alliance, but he does have to take crap from Udina). Don't really want to use an editor...

So yeah, it's obviously not meant for people that would rather just play ME1 again (or use Gibbed).
