Did the OP just seriously compare DAII to BG? Seriously? This has to be a troll post.
Some people are getting really desperate with all the praise that "other game" is receiving from critics and gamers!
DA:Origins = over 2,000 hours, over 20 playthroughs ... more to come
DA2 = around 300 hours, 5 full runs and one interrupted dues to the release of the best cRPG ever! ... R.I.P.
This game is brilliant

What a terrible defense. People maybe playing the same game over and over. On Steam you can find people who have 5000 hours in Counter Strike.

You only just figured out that the main title is not a cutscene?
Oh and you have some brown stuff on your nose.
EDIT: To the person who has spent 300 hours on DA2, you truly are a god among men, my real low patience or really short attention span stops me from playing a second playthrough, i struggle to complete the very first sequence.

Defending against what? I don't need to defend myself. My argument wasn't against either of you and your replys were both irrelevant to the point I was making.

Also the speed of the swords isn't overdone at all. Clearly you are not a swordsman or have never seen a swordsman at work otherwise you would know this.
Depends on the type of sword and material its made from. But for the man-sized two-handers, the speed was too fast. Hawke one-handed them a lot of the time, too, which is absurd. They were very large, thick blades, and Hawke was clad in platemail which definitely would have made fast, dextrous movements difficult. I don't think a return to Origins slowness is needed, but it should be toned down a bit. The animations were just too effortless, I didn't believe that Hawke was really swinging a claymore around. If Bioware can show the physical exertion that goes into each movement, it will vastly improve the enjoyability of combat.

I am glad you love it! Too many people are quick to judge without looking in depth at the games writing. Sure there are flaws and not everybody would be happy all of the time, but the game itself is so playable. And re-playable for that matter. I am on my thrid playthrough - and each time I play it differently I discover new bits of dialogue which puts the story even further together for me

I still can't see the 'depth'.
Not to be a hater, or a ******. But the plot is a mess for me...and also, it's far less re-playable than Origins, because there aren't many changes. And you can't deny that.
I'm not picking on you, btw. Just saying.

DAO didn't let you influence the plot much either. It was a tiny bit more flexible but at the end of the day, the bigger picture is identical regardless of your actions.

Anyway Bioware wants the DA series to go on and on. If they gave us too much control over the main plot points, it would be madness since the world will transfer to each subsequent game and the combination of variables will increase exponentially.

I won't deny that. The choices aren't that big.
But still, they were nice. And also, we had different endings and an epilogue telling us what happened after the main story...DA2 didn't even give us that.

Now that's a sad truth.
At first, I thought DLC was nice. But then the companies started to use it to milk their customers...And we know what happened. It's out of control now.
Hello Capcom, are you there? Yeah, I'm talking to you.

I hated the DAO epilogue dos boxes. They were bugged and blah. Not really many consequences IN game. (TW2 blows DAO out of the water)
DAII's ending left me wanting MORE. In a good way. I love the writing. And I'm sick to death of people telling me "You enjoy DAII? Awesome buttons found ya, lulz? Newb!" or "Never played an RPG, Biosheep?" or "You really should prefer DAO/TW2/whatever crap they prefer" . I think what I think. I like what I like and just because the herd follows the "Death to Bioware! Burn the witch called DAII!" mantra, doesn't mean I have to.
Oops....did I say herd? But I am the one who's a sheep, right?
Seriously, people have the right to love this game and I bet many do. I know of several members on this forum who do and have been bullied into silence. (And I bet they aren't the only ones)

A "tiny bit more" is better than nothing.
I always thought a difference that makes no difference is no difference. Maybe gamers are upset with DA2 because it mirrors life a little too much. No matter what choices your charcter makes the overall ending event is beyond their control. A lot of times in life you think your choices matter, but in the overall scheme they have no effect. Why? Because outside forces nullify your choices.
People want to have a sense of control in their gaming. DAO gave gamers the illusion of control. DA2 shows the opposite that sometimes your choices do not affect the outcome.

I loved that realism. (Though a few more differences would have been nice. I.E. the cut Leandra branch) It really tore at my heart to see my poor girl struggling so hard to keep her life in order and fate wrenching it from her piece by piece.

I wouldn't call you a sheep, or a drone, or whatever. Not cool. I'm not a bully.
As far as I know, I haven't picked up a torch and marched in order to bring Bioware down. But still...I'm kinda upset.
I LOVED the writing in Origins. Also in Awakening. But DAII...I don't know what happened. I just hate the story, the potential is there, there are some good ideas, but everything is wasted in a button-masher, go there and kill stuff. Meh.
