charmingcharlie, let Bioware decide what qualifies for DLC or not, because no, you are not asked to buy anything. You are simply given an alternative. And not believing that Bioware can work competently based on their past mistakes - Bioware, for god's sake, who are probably the only developer who takes mistakes into account - and using that as a yet another argument... alright then.
And I'll repeat once again, Bioware do not have to consider that pirating the comic from youtube or using fanmade tools are viable equasions in their marketing strategies.
Euno17, a bunch of crock is an opinion too, although you do have a right to call it so. And yes, Bioware has a successful marketing strategy, it shows by the amounts of money they recieve to then put into use and produce quality games you play and value. Aside from that, can't really counterargument - pretty strong viewpoints there, all of which are focused on bashing content which is completely optional to buy. I don't even remember how many times I've repeated this. So I'll agree to disagree there.

Agreed. As a compromise between making it totally free for all users and charging points, it should have been made part of the Cerberus Network. I don't think it's worth 320 points.Fredvdp wrote...
This does the same thing as Gibbed's Save Editor, except only six choices and it costs money. I don't really see the logic behind charging money for this.
It certainly isn't value for money for me, as I was only ever going to play it to see how it represents choosing Kaidan for a ME1 romance (all the Genesis vids on YouTube choose Ashley or Liara). I wasn't happy with how Genesis represented Kaidan in general (it's beyond idiotic and condescending for Shepard - particularly Femshep, for whom he's a possible romantic partner - to describe a man just one rank lower and three years older as a "good kid"). I was hoping the romance scene might balance things out a bit. But never mind. I've still got the awesomeness that is ME1 Kaidan. I just feel sorry for PS3 players, who don't.

If you can't get through ME1 on casual in order to do the story and nothing else then you shouldn't be playing video games.
Because everyone wants to complete an entire game, even if on casual, instead of setting up a guaranteed transferable save within minutes.

So you're pretty much happy to be nickel and dimed then? Well - I guess your the kind of customer EAware/mircosoft loves. Gimme a break on the 'optional' to buy part. Everything can be considered optional if you really want to go there.
Look the 'optional' part is completely ill-relevent. The POINT being with DLC - why in the hell don't they just include 99% of it in the game in the first place? Because this 'dlc concept' is designed to keep things like these 3/4/5 dollar b.s items out of the game so they can nickel and dime us to death. Im willing to bet the majority of DLC that has been made for DA2/ME 2 were done so during the production of the game and are left out intentionally or locked out until we 'pay' an extra fee to unlock them.
The majority of DLC content for ME 2 sucked and wasn't even worth the price. That and I mean come on, Avatar dlc? picture dlc? gimme a break.
So the 'you don't have to buy this' arguement doesn't fly. You could say that about everything. This is like a car dealship charging you some 'random' fees to buy their car. It's just a pathetic tactic. I'm not sure how you agree or at the very least not upset with the b.s tactic. I am willing to bet that this will only get worse if it continues. You may not object to it now, but at some point - you are going to realize how bad of a thing the DLC concept is.
ME 3 is going to have an insane amount of DLC products too. It was a sad day when Bioware joined EA and well this is just one of the many down-sides of being apart of a greedy corporation.

Hello Mass Effect fans.
Mass Effect Genesis, the interactive motion comic that allows you to choose Mass Effect 1 plot outcomes as you watch, is now available for the PC and Xbox 360. This is the interactive comic that came with the Playstation 3 version of Mass Effect 2, but it is now available for all users who want to choose their Mass Effect 1 plots without replaying through the whole game to do so.
Mass Effect Genesis is now available for the PC and Xbox 360 for 320 BioWare or Microsoft Points. It can be reached through PC Game Launcher or Xbox Live. It can also be found on the Xbox Marketplace.
Does BioWare have intention to release Terminus Weapon and Armor, Recon Operations Pack and N7 Complete Arsenal Bundle for PC and Xbox 360?

And not believing that DLC is actually made AFTER the game release seems like more of a preconception than what I said. Sure, it's what everybody believes in, and it characterizes "evil companies milking money" best of all, but you can't just say that, can you?
Also, the nickel and dime thing, the part where you went at me personally... I don't really plan to buy this comic since I have my ME1 saves handy for usage anytime, and I didn't touch any appearance packs because I didn't have any interest... I think there was this armor DLC or something I also didn't buy... that's the DLC being optional for ME. If I'm the kind of customer they want, they have their heads in the right place, at the very least.
Greedy companies make money without which ME2 would not be a 96 Metacritic title, and without which ME3 will get squished under its hype train like a melon. I don't like EA as well. I just tend to look at things from a brighter side. You wouldn't run the company(ies) better than their current heads, would you?
And just to clear the air, I respect your opinion and don't really enjoy outsmarting arguments over forums, but in all honesty, with all seriousness, I don't understand what there is not to get about Bioware's decision on this. Or EA's. Or whoever calls the shots on these kinda stuff.

If they charge 160 BW/MS Points ($2) for each Terminus Weapon & Armor and Recon Operations Pack, and 640 BW/MS Points ($8) for N7 Complete Arsenal Bundle, it's OK.

Hi Chris, sometimes when you announce new dlc you also announce "but wait, there's more DLC coming in the future!"
Any chance you can confirm or imply more DLC in the works for ME2? Its going to be a long wait until ME3 in 2012!

why i need to pay for this and ps3 users get for free? i payed a lot for dlc and the ps3 gets for free, nice way to treat yours customers bioware
Because the PS3 version of ME2 was $60. It all evens out really.
maybe for some.....as I live in Croatia, when ME2 was coming out I preordered the collectors edition.....in total to get it here, it cost me around 100$ plus all of the DLC...
i'm not complaining....I really wanted it so I got it.......Boost32 is right...we shouldn't be paying for this.
Bioware really decided to take every penny they could get from us...

This is perfect for those character scenarios I'd rather not play a full game for (e.g. Kaiden surviving). I get what some of you are saying... but who really expects anything *useful* from EA to be free anymore? If cost is a barrier, then perhaps you shouldn't be playing ME just now.
OMG..we are not talking about buying a new car....
it's not out of anybodys price range.....It's a matter of fairness twards the fans and loyal customers...
the formula is simple...if you take care of your costumers, they will continue to return to the brand.
if you just take their money, costumers will eventually go away....
simple as that..
there is a lot of people feeling they have been taken for suckers...

That comes off more as an entitlement complex to me. :innocent:
Seriously, the comic was created in the first place as a means of catching up PS3 players to the story since they literally have no other option. 360/PC players technically do not need the comic, hence why it's perfectly understable for Bioware to charge for it if they wanted to. ME2 is currently $20, so no one is being cheated by this.

It's like Bioware wants their fans to go away. It's like they've given up trying to make us feel appreciated.
