But yeah, those who play ME will totally respect you, and those who don't won't even associate it with anything so why not.

Seriously you don't want that and not only will jerks make you miserable if they know the game the paper work alone will take forever cuz not only do you ask to change your name, once approved you have to put it in the paper for x-amount of days as a public notice, then you have to change your drivers license, pass port, notify your job, notify every person you ever knew, notify every bill collector, your home insurer, your car insurer, your children, you will always have to mark yes to the question: Were you ever known by another name? when filling out any future applications anywhere, oh yeah your cell and home phone services would love to know of the change, should I go on? Really I could but do you want such a time consuming process?

You know, you could always just change it to "Danny Shepard".
At least Shepard is an actual common surname and not something out of a crappy sci-fi.

I dont see the problem.
If I have have a blonde daughter, I am going to name her B.B. Hood.
But would you name her "Bee Bee Hood" and make Bee her first and middle name? Would you go with Baby Bonnie?

Garrus Vakarian actually does sound like a real name. If i didn't know better I'd say "Vakarian" was an Armenian name.
I bet you're just thinking of a random Eastern nation and saying the name sounds like a name from it.
Also, I can't help but think of the poor boy named Turok.

And yeah, it does sound Armenian, and not because it's a random Eastern nation.
EDIT: Not to mention that it gets you laid. Trust me on this one.
