I like seeing the character tees, but I would not wear them. What I would buy is a shirt with an Afterlife logo, or even Dark Star Lounge, or a "tourist" shirt for Illium. Something that looks like something a charqacter could buy in the game. I am much more interested in more subtle shirts that people who have played the game would immediately understand, but anyone who has not would not even give a second glance. The "disingenuous assertions" shirt is a good start.

For example, I am a Disney World nut, but I don't own a single item of apparel with Mickey or any other characters on it. What I do have is a shirt with the silhouette of Splash, Space and Thunder Mountain that says "Mountaineer" on it. Something that only a person who shares my "love" for the park understands, but doesn't make me feel like a tool when I wear it. The site for Last Exit to Nowhere has some fantastic examples of this. The SR2 hat is a good example, too. It's really fun when someone recognizes what it is. =)

I like the way you think. I totally dig my jersey-style shirt that says "Apollo" on the back and has a big 13 under it. It doesn't come across as total space nerd, but when people get it, it's awesome. I'd really like to see a shirt that says something like "Property: Systems Alliance Marine Corps" or something. You know that Shepard has to have a shirt like that somewhere...
