When I ran into the battle (easily the most difficult single enemy in the game to me since he heals a lot), i couldn't help but laugh at how hard Bioware was paying homage to BG2.

Anyone else find this comical?

I actually ran into him by accident. You find a bunch of lore about him, and in Denerim, the far right alleyway (on the Denerim map, one of the sword ones in the docks district, underneath the pearl) has a doorway that is locked. If you have found enough lore, when you click on it you'll get a dialogue option that says "I am looking for Gaxkangg and I am not leaving!" You enter, talk to an old man, and he turns into Gaxkangg saying "WITNESS GAXKANGG!"

Fight him, get slapped around, but stay healed and he'll fall eventually.

Damn I totally missed this guy. Looks like I'll have to try this on my second run.

wasn't too bad a fight. initially I was clumped together and got hit by a cone of cold. so stay apart. Luckily one of my mages wasn't frozen and I could keep heals on the tank.

Yeah, i just thought the name was funny. He just took forever, which is more than I can say for a lot fo the bosses in the game. I didn't have a whole lot of trouble tho. I just felt he was the hardest because it was a bit of a battle of attrition for me...

Agreed. I was also disappointed that I didn't get any ring after the fight either.

Eh. I never really thought Kangaxx was hard, just cheesy with his Imprisonment. This fight was brutal the first time I met him, but when I replaced Dog with Wynne, he went down pretty smoothly. He's basically like a Revenant on steroids.

That was a cool fight in BGII. I remember pwning him though when i played BGII and ToB with a solo Sorcerer. Fun times.

Haha really? I had a much easier time with Kangaxx back in the day, once I reloaded of course, the first time I was caught with my pants down. Of all the places to run into a Lich.

He's not that hard. It would be tougher if he just spammed Cone of Cold at you the whole time.

Anyway, Gaxkang turned out to be far far easier than I expected. Maybe he'll be more of a challenge with my all-warrior party this time around.

Oh, there were LOTS of those things in the game.

Like the elven hunter you (can) save in the forests. Deygun. Sounds an awefull lot like a certain mentor/father figure elf from NWN2.

At some points the game felt like an easter-egg carnival. But fortunately it never quite went over the top.

I totally missed this guy on my first playthrough. I love all the references to Baldur's Gate in this game, some made me literally laugh out loud.

I used to set traps and ring of the ram him into them, really short fight.

of course you have to pick pocket him before the fight, then kill him, to get two rings. Too funny.

you need to have the quest for him, in the sacred ash you loot info on him from an adventurer, in tapster tavern theres a guy who gives you paper and run away and the third in the brecilian forest lower ruins
