Hey, I've completed both games quite a few times, and gotten somewhat better than when I started, but also somewhat of a perfectionist. So, there is details and choices I've made that annoys me from the first game, for example as a paragon I would like to have killed Ashley instead of Kaidan, and as a renegade I would like to have had Ashley as a love interest before Liara, and I would definitely not start a whole new game just for thos few specifics.
Is it possible to alter a save-file to change specifics like that?
Thanks in advance.

Sure, all possible ;-) For example with Gibbed's SavegameEditor. If you have specific questions, just ask here. If you want to mod the ME1 plot data in an ME2 savegame, you'll have to start a new ME2 NG+ with that save game before the changes take effect.

As I understand it, if you want to alter those details in a save game you do have to start a new game (i.e. NG+) with that save file in order to make the changes 'stick'.You can't just change those details in the middle of a game.

As I understand it, the issue is that ME2 saves store a copy of the ME1 plot flags, but then ME2 has its own flags for things pulled from ME1 that are set at the beginning of the game. Gibbed's editor only edits the ME1 copies, not the ME2 derivatives, hence the need to start a NG+.
I think EpicLegion's save editor can change the ME2 versions of the ME1 plot flags, so that you don't have to restart. (However, if you're going to import to ME3, make sure to change both so that they match; we have no idea what ME3 will or won't be using from the ME1 data.)

I know the editor at the link I posted just above works on current games, even allows you to fix Conrad bug for Paragons.
