Would struggle in alot of fights.

Ideal team I suppose would be Hawk as spirit healer to overcompensate for weakness, Avaline tanking with Varric for damage and Merrill for CCC.

Not sure if hawk should be force or blood. Blood would allow to sustain heroic aura, force would avoid the knockbacks. Knockbacks prevented using the ring in act 2 might be better, although it is very expensive.

I will try this out soonish.

I think that this wouldn't be that difficult since the hardest fights are optional (and thus not allowed), no High Dragon, no Xebenxeck, no Brekker, no Night Lies, no Nexus Golem fight.

What about the Item DLC? Is the use from those items allowed or not? Since their making Nightmare feel like Casual.

I would say no DLC at all, alot of that equipment gives bonus XP or are overpowered.

And what about companion quests? i.e. Mirror Image, Pride's End, Long Road, etc etc? It would affect not only your level by the end but there are some solid items from some of those quests (Torch of Falon'Din comes to mind).

I'd say no DLC either, except for Exiled Prince DLC, that one at least seems to be OK in terms of itemization.

No dlc would include Emporium. Its pretty tough atm without the latest dlc. I cant imagine not being able to respec, lol. Its excruciating enough just having to walk past codex items.

Companion quests are basically side quests.

I do suppose act 3 boss fights would be a good testing ground. But, it would have to be a straight up vanilla run to mean anything. No green weapons, armor, or trinkets.

Is the Bone Pit even available in act 3 if you dont open it in Act 1?
