Speaking with the developers (and interviews for those of us who can't come) is always great. Promotional items (as in physical items) would be great as well, though if you decide to do exclusive Con DLC, then there should be a way for those that can't get out to Cons to get it as well.

Also, I insist that you guys come out to GenCon. It's the only Con that's close enough for me to afford to go to.

If I went (but I won't, I live in the UK) I would want a freebie to take away. Just something small - maybe a bit of artwork or something? That would keep the game in my mind and make me want to buy the game at launch. Also, a Q&A with the fans about ME3 would be cool.
I won't be any conventions though. I'd like to see some footage of the event itself. Maybe an interview with Casey from the convention. You could do some online competitions where the winners recieve codes entitling them to a free download of any ME3 DLC. It wouldn't require addresses or credit card details and it would get fans really interested in ME3.

Just my suggestions, hope they help. :)

Definitely Twitter and facebook updates. giveaways are great if they're universal, otherwise notsomuch...

Personally i'd like to see something like a unique piece of artwork released for each one, perhaps representative of the country/city too.

Twitter, video streaming, Facebook. If devs do any formal presentations I would be interested in being able to see them. I enjoy learning more about what goes into development, but that is probably outside the bounds of what you are looking for by way of suggestions. How about "The first (fill in your number) people to do x (over internet) gets y" by way of swag? And by way of being able to participate if they cannot actually get to the venue.

Also we need a Convention in England!

yeh that would be sweet although i dont think many devs would bother with it

videos are a great idea especialy some Q and A's these usualy go down well in my experiance and its a nice way to get info on the game directly from the devs

announce something new like a character or li or something obviously nothing too major

put out some nice art work that can be put up on face book or whatever this way u dont need to fly around the world to appreciate whats there

also im sure some asari dancers would go down well with the crowds but not sure were you'd book them:happy:

I'd like more video interviews/blogging from the devs working on concept art (like armor, some sketches of 100% confirmed returning characters), sound (esp. material on ambiance, weapons fire), and interface/HUD.

But I'm nerdy like that.

What about the writers/developers telling us each about their one favorite NPC and why he/she/it is memorable or how he/she/it came to be?

[*]1. Definitely having the developers there. Meeting the devs of a game is always a treat--ESPECIALLY if you're a fan. Swag is also a great attraction.
[*]2. I would LOVE videos (gameplay or tech demonstrations) that are aimed at the fandom rather than the average, curious viewer (obviously, having both is the ideal and simple solution). Too often, we see an E3 gameplay video in which all of the questoins asked/answered are already completely obvious to any ME fan, and the gameplay demonstration is over-simplified from our perspective. Also, a video tour of the booth would be awesome. Give us a sense of what E3 is like for ME fans who can attend it.

Swag is always wholeheartedly appreciated at a convention. Special comics, t-shirts, mini-lithographs, etc. Maybe DLC item cards?

Try not show off nearly all of the plot like in ME2.
Can you show some of Clint Mansell's work on ME3! Gotta know if hes destroyed Mass effect or made it 10x better!
RELEASE TONS OF VIDEOS OF IT! Granted I'm sure you will do this but please do it anyway for those who cant go to the conventions!
What ever you show can you make it seem emotinal, make you truly feel like this is the end of half a decade of this universe.

cheap swag! giveaways... with slightly better stuff... but we don't need anything rediculous... i still have my fallout 3 hand puppet from PAX 2009, as well as my little starcraft 2 pin... for those of us who can't actually be there, I know that occasional twitter posts keep me interested, but bioware devs already do a fabulous job in that dept. any info is always appreciated, but we need to remember that you guys still have a ton of work ahead of you, and don't want to spoil it. Thanks for the thread!

For those of use who can't make it, live video feeds of booths and/or presentations would be nice. It would also be cool to have a live online Q&A session with one of the devs. Contests and giveaways are always nice too. Maybe some kind of quiz to see if we were paying attention to all the new info.

So convention season is on the way and BioWare will be taking MAss Effect 3 to assorted Cons this year. In the past we have been at shows like PAX, San Diego Comic Con, Gamescom and others. While I don't have any Cons to confirm yet, I am looking for help with some planning for this years Convention season.

I am looking for 2 parts:

  • What do you like to see when you visit a booth AT a convention.
  • What do you like to see from a convention when you can't visit the convention.
Part 1
When you visit a booth at a Con, what do you want to see? Now before you all say it, please do not say hands on demo. We already know people like hands on demos and, if we can make one, we will have one, but that is a Dev team thing. What I am looking for are ideas that the Community team can do that you enjoy when visiting a booth. Swag? Meeting Devs? Decorations? Contests? If you have any fond memories of attending a convention and doing something cool while you were at a booth, I want to hear it.

Part 2
If you can't be at a convention (because, let's face it, not everyone can fly to Seattle or Cologne or wherever), what do you want to see about the convention? Now, again, before you all say it, please do not say video of the demo/gameplay or new trailer. Again, we know you all want this, but I am looking for things that the Community team can do to entertain those of you who cannot visit us at conventions. How can we entertain and inform you all who will not be able to actually stop by the booth. Blogging? Facebook and Twitter? Video broadcast? Giveaways? Again, if you can think of something we can do, I want to hear it.

So give me your ideas. I can't promise we'll use them, but I want to get a list of ideas together that we can start working on to make this year's BioWare convention season awesome both for fans at the shows and those who follow from home.

Thansk everyone. :)

[*]Part 1: Hats for half off like 10 dollars (lets face it i spent a lot of money to get here) free posters/ artbooks, meeting the staff who put there heart and soul into the game/series, deffinetly some type of drawing where fans can win a free copy of me3 or something simular to that.
[*]
[*]Part 2: If I cant make it a facebook/twitter,forum contest for a t-shirt or hat (or something along those lines), Video feeds always good, live chat with the devs describing the experience answering questions.
[*]
[*]
[*]Thats all I can think of at the moment:O

First, I would hold a seminar to prepare and teach people how to resist Reaper indoctrination. Convention attendees can spread what they learn to the general population.

Display footage of the extranet political talk shows. I am sure all the "talking heads" will be bloviating ad nausiem about the impending Shepard trial.

Ticket stubs from the Elcor production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers would be pretty sweet to hand out.

A mock up of Joker's pilot seat would make an incredible photo op.
