Dragon Age 2 vs The Witcher 2 - A hard bold look, comparing companies.

I would love to see Bioware return to their roots and respark their own golden age when they release Dragon Age 3 making it the best RPG ever released in the history of gaming.
Dragon Age 2
It felt like Bioware was burned out. It looks like they needed a break to rejuventate their minds and creativity. Sometimes when you're working 50 hours a week for years & years you get burnt out, you run out of ideas. Hopefully Bioware staff take their vacations go to the pub more often, visit some museums read some history books and come up with some fresh ideas.
I mean who actually thought it was a good idea to make NPC's fall from the sky? Those are the ideas of a person who is just flat out and tired and needs a break.
Witcher 2
Not only does this game have a 95/100 on metacritic but this company also supports Stereoscopic 3D. They embrace technology in addition to making an excellent game.
I wholeheartedly say this with FULL respect. Bioware please learn from the company that made Witcher 2.
Bottom line? I still enjoy Bioware games the most and I'm on Bioware's side still even though they don't show me any stereoscopic 3d love.
Summary
The goal of this post was just healthy criticism in hopes of Bioware resparking another golden age for their games. I've heard that SWTOR is terrible.
I just hope Mass Effect 3 doesn't turn out to be as bad as SWTOR or Dragon Age 2.
Thanks for reading and I hope you don't take offense to this post.

How is it off topic? I'm talking about Dragon Age 2. Are you kidding me?

As for Witcher 2's value and aspects, vs DA2, I feel the same as the OP. I have not finished the game and I will be taking my sweet time with it but from what I have experienced, its a lot better.

I too feel like DA2 is a low point for Bioware. It was so extremely rushed and has so many sloppy elements that it is really shocking to see coming from a Bioware game.

As for TW2.. I played it for 6 hours straight and I thought only an hour had passed. Just sucks you in. Its funny reading all the biodrone user reviews on metacritic. "TW2 sucks, don't buy. Buy the epic game DA2" is 99% of the "0" reviews. Hilarious.
I agree with the op fully. I love bioware games, but DA2 was.. meh. They should have a hard long look at TW2. With EA in the drivers chair, I am not sure we're going to get those good old bioware games anymore. I have my fingers crossed for ME3, hoping it doesn't pull a DA2.

As to feeling rushed and tired...yes to the rushed. Tired, not so sure. They had three great story possibilities. And I would love if BioWare returned to their roots while taking everything that made all of their other games successes. Especially going back to what worked for DAO and reassessing what was meh, what was bleh, and revamping those; plus taking from DA2 what was great, and what was just good. I think that would be a formula to make DA3 as good as Witcher 2 is shaping up to be (assessment still pending as game is so new).

All the game play footage released for TOR I've seen.. not very pretty, and clunky animations. Light Sabers that do as much damage as a wet noodle? Now jedi are just WoW heal spammers.

And this^. I am hoping that it doesn't either, nepp. I would like to finish the series when I get done with its predessors.

Run out of ways to crow about how great 3D (not) is? Hardly a valid reason to declare a game great.

One thing I think BioWare really could take from Witcher's group is the love of the fans. Now, don't jump on me. I know they gave us this forum to talk on (which I am grateful) and they take a lot of flak on it. But I feel Witcher's group feels about their fans the way BioWare used to feel about its fans (of which I am one).
Maybe that is where the burn out comes in. Or, the feeling that CD Projeckt is making games because, as Yahtzee Guy says, they thought everyone would like to play it, not to make more money to build another room onto EA's corporate guys' golden money palaces. Or maybe that's where the rushed comes in to play as well.
Try to grab more audiences from groups that don't play RPGs and don't like them, make a game for them, and try and cash in on a bigger audience. Nothing wrong with money, or making it, that's what businesses do, they aren't charities. But how much money is enough?
CD Projeckt is making a game for us PC elitists, and not trying to make an RPG for people who don't like RPGs.

That said if all goes well, I'm expecting the ranking to be Witcher 2 > Dragon Age Origins > Witcher > Dragon Age 2.
Also OP, I find it stupid to assume that Bioware's golden age is over just because of ONE failed game after TEN or so games. (Sorry ME2 was awesome... so suck it)
CD Projekt Red will need to first make its own ORIGINAL IP and at least 2 more games before I conclude that the company is the all-time RPG king.
Power, fame, and money corrupts and CDP isn't the small company that we imagined it as.
