Did anyone refrain from buying Lair Of The Shadow Broker?

Bought it, loved it, highly recommend it. Some of the best fights and conversations in the game.

Only two complaints:

1. Shepard is forced into being BESTEST FRIENDS EVUR with Liara whether you like it or not. Shouldn't be surprised as this is the case with all ME1 squadmates (and I wouldn't be a douche to my homeboys anyway since I love them so much), but still, boo to limited roleplaying. I demand the option to act like a complete dick 100% of the time. However, the banter you have with her is hilarious, and there are some honest-to-God really touching and personal scenes, so I can deal.

2. My computer flips sh*t during the car chase. I hardly ever make it through that segment without the game crashing.

The only DLC I've skipped so far is that Genesis comic thingy, but that's because I have Gibbed and no likey Dark Horse.

OH!!! yeah. Mechwarrior II had some serious expansion stuff. i can dig expansion packs. DLC is the bastard cousin...but in LotSB case i dont mind at all. Bioware is one of the only companies i will buy ALL dlc for...DICE is the other. i do so in the hopes that they will make more stuff and give me just alittle more time to play great games.

This. Skip Arrival, though.

And if so, why not then?

I've been curious about this for some time.

NO, i did not buy any DLC for ME2, i did not even install the free new mako in the game because i stopped playing the game by then.

I want nothing to do with ME2 or any of the DLC's even if they are free, if ME3 is similar to ME2 then no thank you.

Your choice I guess. I won't bother having some sorta counter argument to that, you've made your mind up lol.

I buy all the ME DLC's...it's ME that addicted me to gaming, no other game I have tried or watched has held a candle to it, so don't want to miss any content...Pinnacle Station got me nervous about the ME DLC qualities momentarily...PS was a flop...but have completely enjoyed all the other DLC's...The "buddy, buddy, we love each other" feel with LotSB was a bit annoying, but the story and game play was excellent.

I didn't want to deal with Liara any more than necessary. Having finally seen it in its entirety, I can safely say that while the combat looked awesome, it makes no nevermind to me whether or not I play it in my games. The buddy-buddy behavior with Liara and further proof of her stalker personality (Shep's armor on display in her apartment).. just.. ugh.

At any rate, all of the DLCs are optional. Whatever has passed between ME2 and ME3 will happen regardless of whether you've played them, so why spend money on something if you're not truly interested in it? I have yet to see Overlord and Arrival, though I finally purchased them about a month ago, curious about the story in those whenever I find the time to get to them.

would not have made sense to me to not buy it since I romanced Liara....

A friend of mine refused to buy it on principle though because he insisted it should have been in the vanilla game

I didn't buy it because:
- it is not available in my country
- it is not compatible with Polish version of ME2
- I would have to buy English version of the game
- I would have to buy at least 1600 Microsoft Points for my Xbox Live UK/USA account

I'm kind of surprised that anyone who bought this game would buy any DLC (for this game) other than Lair first.  It just gives you so much more, even if you don't care about Liara.  The others (yes, even Arrival) are all good, but Lair is just amazing.

Rings true:)  I bought Kasumi first and I still think it's the best DLC for ME 2. A cool new squadmate and a really great mission pack. LOTSB, while it's a very good DLC, it's all about Liara and I kinda had enough of her in ME 1 already.

I've played it, but I still wouldn't buy it. The section of the fans it was made for does not include me.

It's easily the best ME2 DLC of them all.

So much information you can get on people and squadmates, new upgrades, resources and a new ship to mess around with.

Just the car chase was better than the Hammerhead missions.

I think it was fab but it seems like it should have been in the main game. Liara is one of my favourite ME characters so I had to get it. I wasn't expecting much after playing some of the Dragon Age DLC so I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of LotSB. As a bonus if you don't like Liara you can zap her on the SB ship (I do like her but zapped her anyway for lols). I wish environments in the main game had been as varied.

Yeah it comes down to, if you like Liara at all you should probably get it. If you don't care about her skip it. Shadow Broker is about her, Shepard is mostly along for the ride.

I have felt disappointed by some of the DLC that I’ve purchased in the past, but in the case of “Lair of the Shadow Broker” I was highly entertained and I ended up very pleased with my purchase.

Not a fan of either LotSB or Arrival, really. And especially not Firewalker or Overlord. I enjoy Kasumi and Zaeed, otherwise I was very disappointed with DLC for Mass 2 (Never played Mass 1 DLC... More Mass 1? Ugh no thanks).

I loved the Shadow Broker files though

Bought and played it straight away, i haven't played Arrival DLC because it doesn't make sense.... what the hell was Nazzara thinking? think about it from this point of view:
-you live forever
-you think your death himself and the future of only a select few races
-your friends are only two months away if you call them
-Collector ships kick ass but your not going to use them for some reason

How long would it take for the Reapers to fly from darkspace, jump like three relays and arrive at the Citadel then take them by surprise like Nazzara did with the help of the Geth?.
two hours max (after reaching the first relay).
Doesn't make any sense.

Got it as I did with all DLC excluding the second armor change pack thingy.

Very much enjoyed LotSB as I had a vested interest in all my ME1 squadmates. However, the sheer shock value of the ending of Overlord (totally not expecting to see what I did) and the emotional weight that it carries puts Overlord slightly over LotSB for me which came as a somewhat of a suprise.

LoTSB was probably the only ME2 DLC that didn't disappoint me. I can understand that people didn't like the scripted conversations since it could break the "character" they like to project on their Shepard. Me personally, it made me actually like Liara more. :P

Its a must buy if you're a Liara-mancer, or love explosions, witty dialogue, bigger explosions, fast paced car chases, ME1 throw backs, new biotics, more explosions, and interesting new characters.

Oh and it has explosions.

(If Bioware do an ultimate/game-of-the-year/whatever edition with it on disc then I will buy)
