so it reduces the damage taken from melee attacks by 50% right?
my question is, what is a melee attack? (not in a english definition sense)

like i get krogan charging and varren biting and husks slapping count as melee
but isn't that it?

i havent seen a merc elbowing me like i do to him/her
same goes for all the other gun-wielding enemies (except krogan of course)

I would say getting swarmed by the Husks constitutes a melee attack as they swing wildly at you. Bone weave should reduce damage caused by them.

^Yes, basically.  Melee actually does a decent bit in this game, but I'm the kind to get all upgrades when they're available.

so basically there are no enemy types other than the one listed above that do melee attacks...

Yeah, you may think it's useless now, but once the husks start swarming...

It's the staggers from the husks that cause problems not the damage. Yeah sure you can survive twice as many of husk attacks, but generally you are either in a position to get chain staggered to death or you are not. If you are it just means you get killed more slowly, if not you escape after a hit or two. But hey I'll take what I can get even if there are only like 3 things that melee you in the game.

Get it if you've got spare resources, other than that though, you're probably better spending them on something else.

You should never really have a problem getting enough resources though. Costs next to nothing to get 5 probes.
