Is cd projekt welcoming Bioware fans who have been thrown away with open arms?

Yes. I haven't given up on BioWare, but the DA2 folly really tarnished their reputation.

I'm loving Witcher 2 it's everything a sequel and an RPG should have now. It really is amazing and I recommended it to everyone don't late your hate for the rabid Witcher 2 people (myself included) cloud your judgement it's really an excellent game.

That doesn't mean I hate Bioware. I enjoyed DA2 not as much as I'd like to but I display it a lot. I'm waiting for Mass Effect 3 now and The Old Republic. Can't a person like both CDProjekt and Bioware?

I still have faith in Bioware, though CD Projekt is truly showing how things should be done. I've only clocked in a few hours of Witcher 2 because of work, but I'm enjoying every moment of it.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but with The Witcher 2, CDP totally sodomized Bioware. At least the Dragon Age team.

If I were I would not be posting as the streets would run red >>

Just sick of all the threads for it now, and from before. Some of you act like its some sort of religious book, when its a game that minus a handful no one will touch in 5 years.Dispite all the other good games coming out not hardly ONE thread is up about those. Its a smear not a "Oh I really like this game" type of deal. I'm honestly surpised I haven't seen anyone compairing it to sex, or happy events irl. Or maybe they have I've decided to avoid the witcher thread, so dunno.

Before this gets locked I'll just say this:

No.

I'm an RPG fan, but just like Rift I'm sick to death of hearing about the Witcher when I'm not looking for it..

Dragon Age 2 kind of screwed the Dragon Age IP over by itself

i mean i enjoyed DA2, thought it conceptually had potential, but the damage was done anyways... people never really know what the damage really looked like when there weren't any other new rpg's around tho, with The Witcher 2 and later this year Deus Ex & Skyrim - DA2 is going to be like a huge ass wart on the face of the brand, not having any other Bioware games in 2011 doesn't help

Given that I don't feel like I've been "thrown" anywhere, I'm quite happy here. Good old Bioware & I go back many years and it'll take more than one laggy, buggy and unstable CDPR release to lure me away. *Steps off soapbox*

Now that that's said: This b/w mentality is disturbing. So now CDPR are the cool kids and Bioware are those who "deserve" to be mobbed, harassed and bullied? Disgusting. (Ooops, soapbox again)

I like them both. But CDPR will have to do WAY MORE than TW2 to earn my loyalty the way Bioware has over the past 10+ years.

Not for me. The Witcher doesn't have 3 major things I enjoy about Bioware.

1) Having the ability to create your own PC.
2) The companions.
3) The writing. Inb4 "I want a sandwitch."

"I want a sandwich"?

Or the rather snarky/cute "Want a sandwich?" quip after a certain mage declares his love?

One of my fave moments actually. The mage's reaction to it is spot on. Very sweet, IMO.

Absolutely not. I haven't played either Witcher game, but while I'm sure they're great at what they are, the simple truth is that they're much more action-RPGs than DAII could ever be. Every complaint people have thrown at how DAII changed from Origins is even more true of the Witcher. The difference is just that that's what people expect from the Witcher.

I liked it myself. A nice break from the usual dialogue.

As a fan of the old school tactical rpgs, i'm curious to see how Dead State is gonna be from Double Bear Productioins, a new indie developer headed by Brian Mitsoda , the lead writer behind Vampire: Bloodlines by Troika.

See pretty much this. I think alot of this has to do with CD being some little near india company out of Poland, and Bio being connected to "evil" Bioware, soon as CD gets taken up by some big name then it will be hated on. Point is I'm willing to bet neither skyrim or ME3 will garnner even half the hype as the Witcher has on here, dispite the fact both will be much better than DA:2 or for that matter the Witcher 2. Its all just a giant smear thats near cult levels.

CD Projekt is certainly welcoming their money. Whether they'll be good about fixing bugs, pushing DLC, and the like is anybody's guess.

ehm... except for that part where the witcher lets you have more say in the story itself, and how the witcher 2 basically works off of everything the first witcher did well rather than throwing almost everything out and starting over like DA2 did

I don't give my 'allegiance' to any video game company. But i'm enjoying The Witcher 2 more than I enjoyed DA2 up to this point. People say the characters are written poorly, but it isn't true. Apart from the subtleties that are lost in the translation, the characters aren't meant to be very likable, aside from maybe Zoltan. They're meant to be cold, amoral, selfish, and bitter. The world the Witcher is set in is the very definition of 'Dark Fantasy', and it shows in the characters as well as the plot.

DA2 was a good game in my opinion, I enjoyed some of the characters and the story was solid. But as of right now it's hard to not be taken aback by how stunning the entire Witcher 2 experience is.

Eh, as long as they're doing games - even fantastic ones - based on the Witcher book series and Geralt... not for me, no.

Why does it have to be a choice? Can one not play and enjoy DA2 and Witcher 2 for completely different reasons? Bioware has done nothing to alienate me, The Witcher games although well made and fun have done nothing to convince me that cd projekt are the saviors of the RPG genre. If some people hate Bioware and DA2 so intensely then why stick around?
