It wasn't meant to be a Disney game though. It's supposed to be an amalgam of Disney, Final Fantasy, and originality. And KH2 was starting to move towards a more mature setting, which was appropriate given that Disney movies do in fact deal with some mature themes.
Mufasa's murder by Scar (akin to Hamlet) for one.
I understand it's your opinion though. While I don't agree with it, I respect it.
No from what I know when Disney got them to make KH1 it was just going to be a Disney game later on as they were making it they put some Final Fantasy pits in it, this is what was KH1 in my view Disney>the originality of it>Final Fantasy.

do you have a source or something for that? I've never heard this before.

Thanks for that.
Xion is No. I? That's...odd. *didn't play the DS game*
Oops. Yea it's a pretty heavy spoiler regarding Xion's story, but I won't give specifics.

Excuse me Jenova but talk for yourself.
I liked KH1 and KH2 and that's about it. I don't play the spin offs. They annoy me. Something I really hated though was the Little Mermaid musical.
Unlike most video game spin offs, I love the KH series' ones because they all deal with the main story which to me makes them not spin-offs but main series games. All other video game series' spin offs just had no relevance. But I do understand how people dislike them. My nephew and I are huge KH fans and he wants them to stop and just make KH3, which Nomura has said he hasn't had much time to devote to due to FF and Dream Drop Distance. But he's said that there will be a III and I believe that Dream Drop Distance is the last game before KH3.
DDD is going to have Sora and Riku take their Mark of Mastery exams, which will be essential for fighting Xehanort, eventually Master Xehanort, and rescuing people that are connected to Sora.

For the names,
Xehanort = another / no heart
I was always surprised by how dark the games got, Sora smiling before stabing himself in the heart was one thing that stuck with me, the fact that they had a kid willing to die, to kill himself, for a friend was something that changed my view of the game.
I also quite like the idea that the orginization are not all bad people, Larxene mentioning not wanting her heart back because all she remembers is suffering. Lexaeus being a fallen hero. Axle and Saix was another thing I found quite mature for the game, dealing with a friendship which just evaporated is not what I expected.
The little mermaid musical was just bad (especially since I still have some of the songs stuck in my head) and the pooh sections are a bit dull but my only real peeve with the series is Kairi. I'm getting sick of her being the damsel in distress, I just hope she gets the chance to actually contribute something to 3 other than just sitting round needing to be rescued.
Ah yes the Xehanort name. One of my favorite things. Interestingly, in the Final Mix scene where Xemnas is in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, he goes to the computer and types in "Another" and the original names of the six apprentices
Yea even Kingdom Hearts was pretty dark with that example you gave being a particular one. I loved playing as a Shadow though

.
Regarding the Organization: agreed.
And yea the Little Mermaid musical was not needed. I liked Atlantica back in KH because we could fight Heartless and Ursula, but when they made it a musical I died a little inside. And then even more when I heard Donald sing. Stupid Octoduck.
Kairi however is now able to wield her own Keyblade (won't go into spoilers how she is able to for those who haven't played BBS) so I doubt she'll
always be the damsel in distress.
And how could you dislike Winnie the Pooh's world?!
