Kingdom Hearts swag ftw! Lol @ you lowly Final Mixians with your extra content and more difficult Ultima Weapon construction.TheChris92 wrote...
Killed Maleficent, yay! Now the 2nd last threatening boss of the story is finished and there's only truly Xehanorts 3rd form to worry about. Wonder how tough Xemnas will be. The Ultima Weapon is a bit of a drag to get in 1.5 as opposed to how much simpler it was in vanilla Kingdom Hearts. But I might need it against him.

I'd say the sequels are bit more mature, KH2 introduced duality in the villains (they have more depht to them), character death etc. I guess one could say that the sequels embrace their Final Fantasy side more so than the Disney stuff. It's a pretty standard balance -- It's not the swearing, sex, blood or whatever kind of mature if one can even consider that to be mature.
After seeing the other games, I don't really consider Organization 13 in KH2 villains (except Xemnas, Xigbar, and maybe Saix)

There's also Axel, who can generally be considered a villain in Chains of Memories -- Most of the Organization, particularly in 358/2 Days, act very human - It adds layers to them and depht. Like, Xemnas, as you mentioned, who asks for reasons as to why Sora & Riku are fighting the Nobodies. Most of them just wants a heart of their own, and one could wonder if that's really such a bad thing.AresKeith wrote...

Are these kids games or can they appeal to an older audience also?
They start off more geared to the power of friendship in KH1 -- and that IS a big part of the series as a whole -- but the subsequent games starting with CoM introduce not only more depth to the universe's own lore, but depth to the cast as well.
There are very much a lot of characters in this game who you will most likely feel for. I certainly did. Re: Chain of Memories has some VERY BRUTAL scenes that make you wonder "How can this be rated E?".
Kingdom Hearts Days explores the Organization and makes you understand the characters more, exploring who they are and what they think of themselves, and certainly adds a greater level of depth to the Organization in KHII -- provoking some tearjerkers as well when you factor it into account.
Birth By Sleep is a prequel where you play as one of three characters and focuses on the foundational lore of the universe as well.
While it's a game that combines Disney with Final Fantasy, it should not be looked upon as a kid's game only. It's got more to it then that.
There are also a lot of subtle things that happen in the games that you might notice on a first playthrough, or you might not. One of the major revelations regarding Nobodies was foreshadowed a lot, and it was something I picked up on right away.
EDIT: Also, the Disney characters gain a ****load of badassery to add onto their already established badassery. Like Beast.
I really wish there was a world with Beast in every game.

I've only used Kingdom Key, although I do use Oblivion with Master Form, Fenrir with Valor, and Ultima Weapon with Final .The Flying Grey Warden wrote...
Going to use oathkeeper for the rest of the game, for roleplaying purposes.

I've never been able to beat Proud Sephiroth. I can admit that.J. Reezy wrote...
Started my first Proud playthrough of Kingdom Hearts II. Kept getting my ass kicked by that big Nobody and his buddies in the Station of Serenity. Had to grind a little bit to level 8 in order to not die in three hits.

I knew Proud mode is where leveling up and skill will really come into play but damn. I've NEVER died on that fight before. I'm excited to fight Sephiroth. He's obligatory if I want to finish the game. I won't be fighting Xemnas if he's not defeated.Br3ad wrote...

So who decided some bosses should have an invisible health bar when they have a lot of health, that you need to deplete in order to get the actual color bar to go down?

Word. Its novelty wore off as soon as I saw Riku's. Hopefully Square has been thinking the same thing and the protagonist of the next saga gets a dope keyblade. Anything Kingdom Key is hella lame.AresKeith wrote...
I've always wondered why Sora and Mickey got such dull Keyblades while everyone else got badass looking Keyblades (except Kairi)

Hopefully it has more Blade to it too lol
And they should've gave Kairi a altered version of OathKeeper

If it's not reflected in the gameplay as well it's kind of wack. I'd like to like the Kingdom Key but not only does it look dull compared to some of the others it's also one of the weakest keyblades Sora has gameplay wise.Br3ad wrote...
Man, I love Kingdom Key. It's not the look on the outside, it's the power within. Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D are some of the strongest, story-wise, keyblades there are.

I remember that in the Sephiroth battles. At first I thought there was something wrong with the game and it was irritating me.
Wasn't fun.
