What exactly is a hispanic supposed to look like?
I'm hispanic, I'm also a white guy with green eyes. Many of my friends are also either white or black, all hispanic in heritage. Many hispanics look nothing like the hispanics as they are represented in tv/movies with specific traits like olive skin and dark hair/eyes.
Vega could have any ethnicity because hispanics come in all colors and he could have hispanic descendance but have been born in a non-hispanic country like England, Canada, US, etc.
I am curious to see what he will look like and I wonder if Bioware is still using the same model/template that they were going to use when Vega was James Sanders or if they changed his looks when they changed him to James Vega.

Indeed. A family name has so little bearing on what a person actually looks like, especially in this day and age, let alone the future.

I agree, there is a huge amount of variation among Hispanic heritage persons, and "Vega" isn't even an emphatically Hispanic name. There is no telling what James Vega will look like just based on his name.
My only thought is that he will look distinctly different from Sheploo, Kaidan, Jacob and Joker, since those are the principal human male characters we've seen so far. We haven't seen a blond male yet, I suspect he might be blond for that reason, though I'm not really that crazy about blond dudes myself. I think he's going to look like a standard handsome young military dude, though hopefully he'll have a bit of a unique look.

I think so. She was originally a blonde, but then they changed it to black hair, if I recall. Suddenly, I feel like this conversation took a turn I didn't mean it to; didn't mean to start visually profiling whole races. I <3 Scandinavia and everywhere else in the world.
