Yeah, Strahovski isn't a Scandinavian name at all.
I know, because I am Scandinavian.
Yeeeah... we were talking about the fact that they changed Miranda's last name, Solheim, to Lawson, because apparently the idea of someone with such a surname speaking in an Aussie accent would have been so mind-blowingly difficult to comprehend for most gamers
.
I don't think Miss Solheim rolls off the tongue as well as Lawson.
"What are you fighting for? The future of humanity as evidenced by the perfect Miss Lawson?"
With Solheim, you don't expect an Aussie accent. Imagine Yvonne saying "I'm Miranda Solheim." ...or don't since anything she says sounds sexy.
Or maybe I'm just so into English sounding names because that's all I know.
Although....
Speak for yourself, mate;
you don't expect an Aussie accent

. Immigration/mixing is fairly common in countries that aren't isolated from the rest of the world. Personally my mind isn't blown away by the fact Yvonne
Strohovski doesn't sound Polish when she talks; it's completely unsurprising and unremarkable. I might have found it strange a few centuries ago, but I certainly wouldn't have in the last century, not now, and certainly not in the future. Plus, Miranda's father would probably have been flying around a lot; it's very common for entrepeneurs with big businesses, engineers, etc. to fly around the world for business/work and, along the way, move from country to country, and settle somewhere other than where they were born.
