I've already posted this in the News and Annoucements forum:

I recieved my Shepard and Grunt figures today.

Before I had even opened the package, Shepard looked like this.

I opened the package and it appears that the arm was never attached in the first place. The "socket" in Shepard's arm wouldn't fully connect with the "ball" under his shoulder pad. Eventually I was able to move his arm into a position where it would stay attached, however, it is very loose. I was able to place the Assault Rifle in his hand, then rest the arm against his leg (Like so). I should also point out that I am unable to raise Shepard's arm without it falling off. <_<

Despite the damage, I'm still fairly happy with the figure.

I doubt there is anything that can be done, since I opened it. I'm just letting others know about the possiblity of figures arriving already broken.

Where did you buy Shepard from? You may be able to return or exchange him depending on the store. I wouldn't even have opened him before I contacted the store since thats obvious damage.

You could pick a pose you like then super glue the arm.

I ordered them through the BioWare Store.

I'm happy with the pose I have him in at the moment. I actually thought the arm was supposed to be like that, which is why I decided to open it.

I had this happen once before. Did you try the hot water thing? Just boil some water, in a kettle or on the stove, take it off the boil, dump the figure and arm in, wait about 40 seconds then remove the figure & push the arm in. It should pop into place properly. Leave to cool, put in freezer or run under cold water and it should be fine. Works great on frozen joints, restoring figure's hands grip  & bent accessories/weapons to original shape too. Like Shepard's helmet.......
