Enjoying your posts Sapphire and Piper. Keep up the good work.

Now, heres a real update.
After leaving Tazok's tent, the group went to the Friendly Arm Inn to rest. Then they went to Cloakwood to find the mine. However, they came across some druids at a cabin, and since Jaheira knew said druids the group decided to help.

On the way to finding the druids, the group came across a spider lair, where they met the some crazy lady, who said that Jon Irenicus was married to a lady named Tanova.

Then they went back on their druid finding mission and found one druid.

After finding one druid, they went to the tree house and found another druid. After that, the group went to the mine and destroyed the group of people outside. However, there were many close calls for Imoen, and Jaheira.

Ayaka - Fighter/Mage/Thief - 4/4/5
Imoen - Adventurer - 6 (May or may not dual her at level 7.)
Khalid - Fighter - 6
Jaheira - Fighter/Druid - 5/5
Coran - Fighter/Sharpshooter - 5/5
Kivan - Archer - 5

Update on Ayaka.
The party of Ayaka, Imoen, Khalid, Jaheira, Coran, and Kivan entered the mines and found a plug.

Then, they continued down further into the mines and found a miner name Rill and a Dwarf named Yeslick.

Further down into the mine the group encountered a mage, who tried to kill them, and Coran decided to make a comment about the dead mage's body.

Next, they found an Ogre mage, who was torturing people. Imoen made a comment about how she hopes that we do not get tortured like that. (I sense foreshadowing!)

Deeper into the mines the group went until they found Davaevorn, and destroyed him. (After like two reloads! Due to fireball to death, and then Fireball and Minute Meteor.)

Next on the agenda is to use the key on the plug!
Ayaka - Fighter/Mage/Thief - 4/4/5
Imoen - Adventurer - 6
Khalid - Fighter - 6
Jaheira - Fighter/Druid - 5/5
Coran - Fighter/Sharpshooter - 5/5
Kivan - Archer - 6

Next update!
After filling the mine with water the group headed towards Baldur's Gate, and talked to Commander Scar at the front gate.

Next, the group encountered an elf with Kivan's bow! (Oh noes!) They killed said elf and got Kivan's bow back.

Then, they entered the city of Baldur's Gate and met up with Elminster. (Again!)

Then they went to the thieves guild and decided to steal some artifacts from Shandalar's daughters, and they found out that they were poisoned!
Then the group wandered around town until they met Brielbara, and found out that Coran had a daughter. Ayaka was pleasantly surprised.

After that, the group went to the Low Lantern and killed Yago.

Then, they went on a wild goose chase to find the antidote for their poison. Then they returned the curse book to Briel. After that, the group went after Shandalar's daughters and killed them for their artifacts.

Lastly, the group went back to the Thieves' guild. Only to find out that they were betrayed.

Ayaka - Fighter/Mage/Thief - 4/4/5
Imoen - Adventurer - 7 (Decided not to Dual her into a mage.)
Khalid - Fighter - 6
Jaheira - Fighter/Druid - 5/6
Coran - Fighter/Sharpshooter - 5/6
Kivan - Archer - 6

*Le gasp!* Mini update! I'm starting to think that I don't want to do Durlag's Tower, but I may try it.
After leaving the thieves' guild the group went to Ulgoth's beard. Where they met Shandalar, and he teleported them to an Ice Island. Then, they went inside and met some crazy mages.

Continuing onwards, the group found the cloak and was teleported away from the Ice Isle, and gave Shandalar his cloak back. Then the group did some more exploring and came upon a Malenti, and an elf. They needed help so the group gave it to them.

Ayaka - Fighter/Mage/Thief - 5/4/5
Imoen - Adventurer - 7
Khalid - Fighter - 6
Jaheira - Fighter/Druid - 5/6
Coran - Fighter/Sharpshooter - 5/6

Another update on Ayaka's Adventure.
After saving the elf. The group made their way to Ulcaster, and ultimately Durlag's Tower. However, on the way there they met a very nasty Half-Ogre.

Next, they continued their way to Ulcaster and cleared it out to the best of their ability. After that they headed towards Durlag's Tower for the tour that they paid 60 GP for.

Then on the second floor they met a thief and a ghost.

On the third floor they met a Succubus named Kirinhale, which they decided to help, and they gave a lock of her hair to the thief on the second floor.

Another update or Durlag's Tower Part Duo, and I can see why people either skip this place. Its sooo long. Haha.
After dealing with Kirinhale, and the rogue guy the group descended deeper into the tower.

Then they were on the first basement floor, and did all the tasks that were required for them to do. After that they killed the Wardens of Avarice, Fear, Pride, and Love.

Then they descended even lower, where there seems to be tons of dopplegangers.

Ayaka - Fighter/Mage/Thief - 5/5/6
Imoen - Adventurer - 8
Khalid - Fighter - 7
Jaheira - Fighter/Druid - 6/7
Coran - Fighter/Sharpshooter - 6/6
Kivan - Archer - 7
Also, I do have the No Experience Cap component on so if characters seem high level for Baldur's Gate. Thats the reason why.

One more update! Finally out of Durlag's Tower, and I don't want to go back in there unless I have to!
Moving a little bit forward. The group found some more dopplegangers and killed them.

Then they went down a floor and found some statues and a skeleton of a huge dragon!

The summoned minions from the statues attacked the group (I want to call them Team Backstab, but alas Coran and Imoen don't have backstab multipliers due to their kits.)

After roaming around the third floor for a bit and killing all the elemental guardians. The team ended up playing a game of chess.

Lastly, after wondering around for what seemed like hours the group finally encountered their quarry. The Demonknight, and killed him with some help from a Rod of Monster Summon.

Now the real last part. Jaheira said some words of congratulations. (I think.)

Thanks, Piper! I'm not sure if I'm going to continue on to BG2 after I'm done, or hold off on it and make another run though BG1. Also, I'm trying to do most of the other stuff before I even start on Scar's questline, and I hope you make your goal!

Well Raechl finished off Bandit camp - with a combination of Web, Sleep and skeleton army it wasn't a hassle. Stopped by High Hedge to grab the Neutral Archmagi cloak and buy skull trap.
Seriously just want to do as many side quests as possible before tackling Cloakwood. Thinking of clearing the bassilisk area (prot. from petrification and scroll of prot from acid make it a cakewalk) for some big XP gains, take Samuel back to FAI, kill some sirines (does prot from evil prevent charm spells?), get the farmer's son back from the ankheg cave and lots more
An encouter with gibberlings between maps gave Raechl her 5th mage level (3rd level spells, so skull trap is in the bag) and she's aiming for level 6 in cleric soon, which gives 4th level priest spells? Ah well, will play some more and see if Raechl can get to level 6 in both before the Cloakwood mines.

Last Update for the Night, and I do believe its going to be a long one.
The party headed back to Ulgoth's Beard, and were attacked by some Cultists.

Then they went looking for the cultists to kill, and find them they did, and their demon pet!

Then Jaheira made a comment on how awesome the group was. (I guess thats how you would word that. Haha.)

Next, the group talked to a mage that was doing research on Balduran, so the group went to retrive the sea charts, got sent on a boat, and then shipwrecked on an island. Then, the group talked to the leader of said island, and she said to go kill the leader of the werewolves. However, the group ran into some ambushes with said werewolves.

Next, they entered a house, where a mage was hiding for an extremely long time.

After that, the group entered the boat and found that it was a lair for Werewolves!

After getting to the top floor of the boat, the group killed the werewolf leader and headed back to the house, and the village. (Also, found Balduran's Butter Knife.)

Once returning to the village, the grou gave a doll to a little girl, and the group met a man named Durlyle. It also seemed that Coran was jealous. So jealous that it got to the point that an altercation happened. (In other words, I got amused by Coran's being jealous. Haha.)

Then the group went to main house and found out that they were infected with Lycanthropy.

Next, the group ran as fast as they could to the boat, where they met up with the person who infected them!

Once, back to the mainland, they talked to the mage's assistant, who wasn't very happy, and then to the mage, who also wasn't very happy. Oh, and Jaheira was happy that the party was cured of their lycanthropy.

Ayaka - Fighter/Mage/Thief - 6/6/7
Imoen - Adventurer - 9
Khalid - Fighter - 8
Jaheira - Fighter/Druid - 7/8
Coran - Fighter/Sharpshooter - 6/7
Kivan - Archer - 7

@ SapphireIce - nice work! I probably will skip all of ToSC, because Raechl have level capped (awwh, so soon?!) at Mage 7/Cleric 7. Meaning she has a delicious cloudkill learnt and can't use it because she doesn't have fifth level spell slots
Got to the level cap pretty speedily by Mutamin's garden area. Raechl also found a wand of summoning and had the funds to max charge it, so it's moving on from Algernon's cloak cheesiness to giant gnoll army cheesiness. Haven't used the cloak in a while except to charm a commoner who was blocking a doorway and insisted on staying there.
Now it's off to Cloakwood, and to be frank, I'm really worried now that I've reached Raechl's power peak. It's the first time I've soloed a cleric/mage and from all the cheese it's evident I have very little idea what I'm doing. Strategies I've come to love and adore:
- Skeleton army! (a fearsome number of... five. The game doesn't let me summon more than five at once. However, I can summon hundreds of wolves with my dear wand of summoning, and it doesn't kick a fuss then)
- Invisibility is incredible, with its 24 hour duration. Sanctuary provides a nice benefit of not dropping out when you open chests, so I can sneak into a room full of enemies, grab the loot, and sneak out.
- At 13, Raechl's THACO is pretty pathetic, and now that enemies are getting strong enough to resist Sleep, Magic Missile has become the level 1 spell powerhouse.
- I have a feeling that skull traps are going to make or break the beginning of battles, so I'll be using them a lot.
Anyway, Cloakwood time. Off to have a swim with Davaeorn.

Davaeorn was dealt with extremely efficiently (that is to say, wand of monster summoning wins again). Raechl will be expressing through the game now - can't think of any must-have items that require detouring, but will stop by Durlaq's for the tome of wisdom.
Off to Baldur's Gate now, and to investigate some dodgy mecenaries...

Raechl just busted herself out of Candlekeep - it goes by incredibly quickly if you don't need the experience from the kills and can just sneak past with invisibility. Robe of electrical resistance and boots of grounding helped electricity traps, whereas the two rings of fire resistance plus priest spell of fire res. and Shield spell made every other trap redudant. Raechl picked up Tome of Understanding and Manual of Strength and got the hell out of there.
Also, she didn't bother with the Lothander poison quest for the Tome of Understanding in Baldur's Gate; Ziggy, her trusty ferret who we haven't heard from in a while, just pickpocketed the priest at the temple of Tymora and nabbed it (plus a potion of healing and 5gp).
A short stop to Durlag's tower to pick up the ToU there, then back to the big city.

Raechl emerged victorious from the Temple of Bhaal!
Raechl made a quick duck into the wizard's tower (Ragefast or Ramzith?) to pick up the Tome of Clear Thought, before going back to the Iron Throne building. There, she dispatched the girl and was directed into the Undercellar.
Wand of Summoning becomes pretty hopeless when someone casts cloudkill, but then the awful AI of a non-SCS game kicks in and Krystin was perfectly happy to stand in the cloud choking to death whilst Raechl waited in safety after the casting invisibility.

The Duchal Palace was a pain, a real pain. It added two reloads to my count (now at 4, right?) when the Dukes were chopped down like twigs, and eventually I had to just go all out with the wand of summoning, which I then hasted. A 50+ squadron of hasted gnolls, ogres, wolves and hobgoblins is mighty fierce indeed and both Dukes got out alive. Phew!
The thief maze was another pain. Painstaking triggering of each trap individually, with the usual anti-trap measures. Despite this, it brought Raechl painfully close to death, and she had to rest upon entering the Undercity. Raechl snuck past the ambush - no need for the extra XP.
The temple was a struggle, again all out with the Wand of Summoning and hasting them all. They managed to get Sarevok down to "Injured" but eventually were wiped out by his cronies, and Raechl got the bad end of a Confusion spell and was left running around hopeless, Sarevok swinging freely at her. He hit quite a few times, but then the confusion ran its course and Raechl was brought to her senses. She desperately conjured more summons, managing to distract Sarevok for a bit whilst she healed up. Then she brought in even MORE summons, and starting whipping out the magic missiles. Finally, Sarevok was defeated, and Baldur's Gate rejoiced and yada yada
Not sure if I'm ready to take Raechl to BG2 yet. It's clear I don't know enough about the game to not rely on cheesy tactics. I've got a sweet custom made party waiting to start so I'll put that in the minimal reload, and not use items like Algernon's cloak or Wand of Cheese... er, Summoning.
I think Raechl will be better off in BG2 with higher levels and better spells, but I'll let her rest before sending her off to Irenicus's dungeon
Complete Challenge with:
4 reloads due to death
1 reload due to bug

New entry into the minimal reload! I won't be skating over as much as my last one and intend to do the TotSC areas. My conditions:
- Explore everywhere and anywhere
- Roleplay everything
- Absolutely no metagaming. This means no re-selling of items to recharge, no "easter egg" item locations, no pre-buffing before surprising or unexpected battles etc.
Now, I won't start the game for a while yet, as I intend to do a reinstall with hundreds of mods, and this is my favourite party. It should be noted that I will detail my run in a narrative storytelling way, so will take quite a few liberties with the story telling and the character backgrounds (nothing that will change the gameplay, however). I'll introduce the characters:
JACAMO, Bhaalspawn

Jacamo is well-meaning, intelligent boy of 17 years of age. Though he has the best intentions, throughout his life he has been tormented by fits of uncontrollable rage that have often ended up with someone getting severly hurt. The most famous example of this was when, during his time studying in Candlekeep's school for young children, a student two years older shoved Jacamo into the mud. Jacamo found himself, fifteen minutes later, covered in blood with the bully almost dead at his feet. Gorion punished Jacamo severely, despite his insistence that he couldn't remember the beating whatsoever and felt overwhelming remorse for his actions, if they were indeed his own. This dark streak in Jacamo upsets an otherwise gentle and calm personality, known for his wit, sarcasm and fascination in the art of magic to the point of hero-worshipping his foster father.
CORMAC

Jacamo's best friend, Cormac is a slightly stronger but more naive warrior, with grand dreams of slaying dragons and rescuing the damsels. His time in the Candlekeep library has done little to dispel illusions of glory and sacrifice - instead, it has encouraged Cormac beyond reason to fell the evil roaming the realms, despite Jacamo's teasing and lack of faith. Cormac is the only one, apart from Gorion, who is aware of the unstable nature of Jacamo's temper. On one merry night at the tavern, Cormac drunkenly swore to serve Jacamo to whatever end, till death take him from his service. It was a grand speech that Cormac had stolen from a book in the library and was taken like the joke it was. The next morning, through a crippling hangover, Cormac was surprised to find that he actually had meant every word.
MICAL

Mical is a devout warrior with a longing for the peace of the forest. He doesn't know Jacamo that well, only as a friend in study during their time at school. A half-elf, Mical is older than Jacamo but still youthful. He has been dutifully serving Oghma in his time at Candlekeep, but wishes to move his faith to a diety more closely associated with nature. Mical is not present at the initial stage, but notices Gorion, Jacamo and Cormac leaving in the middle of the night and decides to follow with Lilith, if anything to smell the air of the wilderness...
LILITH

Lilith is good friends with Mical, being the nearest to next-of-kin. Born in Baldur's Gate, Lilith was sent to Candlekeep to learn the ways of archery in a stress-free environment, but soon astonished the humble Watch with his incredible progress. He was soon tasked to the hunting squad, and developed an affinity for nature, roaming the borders of the Candlekeep grounds. At the insistence of Mical, he packs his things and together they follow Jacamo and Cormac out into the wilderness.
DARREN

Darren is the young apprentice of Nimbul, sent on his first bounty mission - to kill a little whelp by the name of Jacamo. Though Darren is a bounty hunter, he is not inherently evil. On the contrary, he has, deep down, a moral compass that occassionally makes him rethink his actions. He arrives in Candlekeep on the day Gorion wishes to leave, and stumbles upon two men fighting in the Priest's quarters. One man is skinny and weak, fitting the description and Darren stabs him in the back. The other man, a tall, well-built warrior thanks Darren, and introduces himself as Jacamo. Darren is stunned and before he potentially can fullfill his contract, Jacamo turns and leaves the building. Furious with himself, Darren follows Jacamo, Cormac and Gorion out of Candlekeep with the hopes of redeeming himself to his master Nimbul...
SORPHUS

A prodigy in the arts of magic, Sorphus seems to have been born with his ability. He is a good friend to Jacamo, less so to Cormac whom Sorphus regards as a bit of a naive idiot. Sorphus is a source of guidance to Jacamo, and maintains a strong relationship with Gorion, who regards Sorphus with a great amount of respect and approval. Sorphus arrives home one day to find a hastily scrawled note from Jacamo, explaining how he was leaving that evening and was sorry he couldn't say goodbye. Indignant, Sorphus packs his things and departs into the night, where their muddy footprints, especially Cormac's wide foot, is easily discernable. He follows their trail.

Congrats on downing Sarevok, Piper, and thank you! I had to try the TotSC Areas at least once. I never ever want to do the bottom half of Durlag's Tower ever again. Might finish BG1 today, I don't know if I'm going to go onto SoA and ToB yet, but if I do then I might have to start the Minimal Reload Challenge thread on the BG2 Forums. Another thing, I hope your custom group makes it, Piper! Also, First update of the day on Ayaka's adventure.
After doing the tasks at Ulgoth's Beard, the party went back to Baldur's Gate and decided to do Scar's tasks at the Seven Suns. So the group saved Jhasso.

Then the group went back to Scar and got told to clear out the Seven Suns building, After that they went back to Scar and told him of their progress.

Next, the group went to the sewers and killed an ogre mage, and reported back to Scar.

Then the group went outside and talked to Scar, who said we had to talk to Duke Eltan.

Next, the group followed Scar up to the top floor of the Flaming Fist HQ, where the group talked to Duke Eltan.

Then the group went to the Iron Throne building to find some answers. That is also where the group met Emissary Tar.

Once on the Fifth Floor the group got into a battle, which they won. Then, they talked to Thaldorn

After descending the five floors, the group went back to Duke Eltan and he sent them back to Candlekeep, where they met some Ogre Mages that wanted to kill Ayaka, however, they were killed instead.

Next update! Mainly a wall of pictures though. Which I apologize in advance for. Heh.
Once inside of Candlekeep the group talked to many people. Some of which were dopplegangers. Some that were old friend of Ayaka's and Gorion's. Another by the name of Koveras, which was later revealed to be Sarevok! Oh, and the leaders of the Iron Throne. Ayaka also found out that she was a Bhaalspawn, and everyone offered their support.

Khalid - Fighter - 8

Yet again, another update. Hopefully not just a huge wall of pictures. I think I only have like an hour left before I'm done.
The group descended into the Catacombs after being teleported down there. It seemed like a huge battle of Dopplegangers, however, they got help from Arkanis and Deder.

Then, the group fought a group of dopplegangers that took on the form of Tethtoril, Gorion, and Elminster.

After fighting that group, they fought a doppleganger that took on the form of Winthrop.

Then the group descended into some caves, and found a group let by a man named Prat. Ultimately he was defeated.

Then the group came across some greater basilisks. Which turned Coran and Jaheira into stone. (Thank god I carried some scrolls of Stone to Flesh.)

Lastly, the group came across a guy that was looking for Prat.

One last update before the Final Battle.
The group headed back to Baldur's Gate as fast as they could. Then, they met with a woman named Tamoko, and promised her that if they could save Sarevok that they would.

Next, Ayaka led her group to the Iron Throne building. She talked to everyone she could and even got into a battle on the fifth floor.

After that they went to the Undercellar and killed Kristin and Slythe.

Next, they got captured by a Flaming Fist, and ended up meeting Angelo.

After that, the group found a way out of the Flaming Fist Headquarters, and re-entered them so they could save Duke Eltan.

Lastly, the group rushed to the Duchal Palace to save the other Dukes from Sarevok, which they did.

After I get done with the Final Battle, I will post an updated Challenger list. Including Future Challengers. So if anyone wishes to join leave at least a name of a character, and if you want to a class, and alignment. Please and Thank you.

Last Update, which is the Maze and the Final Battle. Oh, and it took me one reload.
Upon entering the Maze, the group found an injured woman, who told the group about the maze and what may be inside of it.

After traveling around the maze, the party found Winski, Sarevok's mentor, left behind. Apparently Sarevok thought that he was expendable. However, the group spared him.

Next, the group entered the cave, and found two last ditch attempts to get rid of Ayaka. A group of people and Tamoko, however, the group spared Tamoko.

Then they entered the temple and fought with Sarevok.

However, Sarevok was killed! (*Plays Final Fantasy Victory Fanfare!* Haha.)

Ayaka - Fighter/Mage/Thief - 6/6/7 (I'm laughing at the favorite spell too.)

Imoen - Adventurer - 10

Khalid - Fighter - 8

Jaheira - Fighter/Druid - 7/8

Coran - Fighter/Sharpshooter - 7/8

Kivan - Archer - 8 (Hes totally the Most Valuable Party Member with over five hundred kills.)

Grats, SapphireIce! And yes, archers are beastly good weapons in BG1. With bracers of archery and bow of markmanship, they damn well get the highest kill count of anybody in the party.
Starting the party now, install looks like it's working (aside from a major screw-up with character creation that creates SoA level characters for a BG1 game >.<). Won't play much, as I have pressing matters to attend to, but should get the game rolling.
