Just wanted to check, how do you ensure Alistair rules alone, with a mage warden girlfriend?

I would assume a hardened Alistair who duels (and kills) Loghain would be King alone? Or does it depend on what you say before or during the LM?

Alistair hardened, duel Loghain yourself, kill Loghain yourself. You could also set up the Anora marriage before the LM, which will ensure you still get to choose the ruler even if you don't confirm their marriage at the LM. You need to choose the right dialogue options after the Landsmeet- for instance the Persuade ("being king is not a punishment") or "maybe you should please yourself for once."

You don't have to if you plan on dueling and executing Loghain yourself.

The only reason to have the Warden duel and execute Loghain is that you want Anora and Alistair to marry. Otherwise, if you want Alistair as sole ruler, you can let Alistair duel Loghain. And it's even interesting to have hardened Alsitair duel Logahin because then he will automatically make himself king.

Yes, you're right- my bad.  I was thinking how to get to the scene where the Warden chooses the ruler, but that's only an issue if you want to proclaim yourself queen (which a mage can't do anyway) or have him marry Anora.

Sorry OP- Alistair can duel and kill Loghain, then you just need to choose the right dialogue options in the post-LM chat and he'll keep a mage Warden on as mistress.
