So... this may be a stupid question, but... if the import bugs are fixed in a file that has already been completed (approval ratings wise), will I have to replay the game for DA3?
Thanks :)

... due to issues we cannot fix directly in DA2.

On the DAO forums, Rob talks about future plans for Origins and how they are still working on patching some things. I'm hoping that the lingering import issues will eventually be patched at the source (DAO and DAA.)

I've said it before, but I'll just reiterate: Even if a final fix requires my doing a full new play of Origins and Awakening for a fresh/fixed/correct save file to import, I WILL GLADLY DO THAT if that is what it takes as long as the issues are resolved. I also find it hard to believe I'm the only person this applies to, since many of us love DAO still. :D

Also, yay for PS3 patch notes! *hurries off to read*

So, this new patch still doesn't fix Zevran's romance with the Warden? :(

I do not see Aveline's 4th armor upgrade appearing on the guy's (don't remember his name) body as fixed. It was supposed to fixed in the first patch but it wasn't. Was it fixed?

It was but it cached the very first time you went in to that area in that act so you'd basically had to have been playing from before going in to that act to see it.

If you're referring to the fix in the first patch, I had done a new playthrough and the upgrade still wasn't there.

I have to concur with Radwar - I just finished my very first play through with v. 1.02 patch and I never received Aveline's 4th piece of armor.

If I am reading Luke correctly, to see the item (in 1.02) you need to start your game in act 2, proceed to act 3, then do the "Favor and Fault" quest with no saving/reloading in between.

Can you, please, clarify what was not fixed? Those import issues were the main reason why I never bothered with another DA2 playthrough...

Wait?  What?  The "main reason" you didn't play through DA2 again was the incorrect recognition of a relationship with a character who doesn't even appear (except by reference) at all, and who's actions have ZERO impact on the course of the game itself?  Wow!

Considering the number of possible variations in the World End-State settings, multiplied by the number of different character saves that a player might select to import, (while forgetting that some details might have been"different" in that particular save) I'm amazed that DA2 seems to do so well with it at all.

(And if it's that important, there's always the "hand-edit" method of modifying things in the import to be they way you believe they should be...  )

Actually, Zevran and Allistair's cameos were still bugged even when the correct plog flags were set.  (Zevran thought the Warden was dead and Alistair's romance lines played concurrently with his non-romance lines) As half of the problem was an import approval fix, I would presume that portion of the game has been fixed.  The remainder of the bugs were most definitely within DA2 itself, and therefore should have been fixed as well.  If the import issue was not fixed, the import mod should still set the flags correctly so that the cameos appear correctly.

That seems like a LOT of work, I'm impressed ! Balancing combat audio sounds neat btw, I had almost stopped using fire spells because of that (I'm pretty sensitive to loud sounds).

I think you're not reading Mr. Barrett correctly (sorry!).

What he means is that the whole Darktown area, including the item drops of its inhabitants (Jevan, for example), is baked into your save the first time you visit it. The fix would have had to be applied before the first time you visit Darktown in Act III in order to take effect on that character.

If it's still not showing up, even then, then... *shrug*

The armor showed up for me after 1.02. But, I applied it while I was still in Act 1.

This certification is taking way to long. Really do not understand why they have to release at the same time for PC and Console. Been waiting since release to play this bugfest of a game.

Hopefully soon, there was a last
minute change to the PC patch which is why it didn't come out before
consoles as it normally does.

Alberta's pacific time. If it's going to drop today, then we'll likely see it between noon and six eastern.

Actually we're on mountain time (UTC -7) but the same principle applies minus one hour :)

They do NOT "have to release at the same time".  And in fact, it's probably been less than 50% of the time that they have...
(across all of DA:O/A/2. )

No, I was merely correcting the time error. I honestly have no idea when it's going to be, my estimation was based on what the issue was that halted the process (and before you ask, you'd rather not know, I assure you)
