So when is this patch coming out then bioware??
you have been fobbing us off about this patch for long enough now, last week you said it would be this week and the week b4 that you said the same. there are much better games out now and that are about to come out, you are losing my interest in this game very fast. i wont be buying bioware games again so quick.

poor very poor

I finished my first playthrough three days ago and I'm waiting for this patch to come out before starting my second one, I can't wait, I hope it'll be released either today or tomorrow at the latest, I don't feel like waiting the whole week-end for it.

I finished my first playthrough like ages ago and haven't played yet again. I almost did it when the latest patch came out, but after seeing that it did not fix anything really interesting to the storyline, I didn't. I've been nearly 2 months without playing this game and I have not recommended it to any of my friends, and they LOVED DAO, but come on, the PC version of this game is not as good as it could be right now. I just hope next time Bioware would not give false hopes to the community and they will release the patch without further announcement (take your time, but don't say tomorrow if that is not gonna happen). I, and probably most people, will feel so happy of knowing the patch just came out, instead of waiting for an unexisting tomorrow.

I do understand that testing such fixes takes time. However, what I don't get is why there can't be an estimated time of release. Even a negative one like not today or not before the weekend would be more appreciated than an empty phrase like 'soon'.
I would like the developers to know  that this is by no means an angry demand but genuine confusion of a person would really like to know when he can play the game he enjoys again (due to the gamechanging nature of the patch any progess made until then is pretty much worthless).

Does anybody know if this patch will fix the endgame so that you can talk Anders into fighting against the mages with you? Sorry if it was asked/answered already, didn't read the whole thread.

I think this is an unreasonable expectation in general. If he's resolved enough to do what he did, for the sake of the mages, how could you possibly expect him to throw that all away? I know other characters will follow you, even if they would rather not at the end, but he has the most at stake.

It's not wishful thinking, it's a known bug. There's dialog written and recorded for the situation, only it's unreachable from the game unless you use the debug script.

Here.

There's a whole thread about it somewhere here as well, but I'm too lazy to search for it.

The patch is in certification, therefore it's release is out of bioware's hands.

I hate it when someone says Soon and poof we are still waiting. I mean the consoles got their patches no love for the PC in the house. Gezz

I think that they ment to say SOON™. "Soon" was obviously a typo. :P

'coz they don't know. It could be any day now, which is why they won't specify "not this week" like they did earlier.

That said, I so wish it would've come yesterday, I went to work hung over on my day off, and now I'm double regretting it here.

Someone has to know. Can't be that hard to find out who it is and ask them for a statement. And if it indeed should be impossible i would have to ask who made up the system.

This but lets dump on Bioware anyway just to make ourselves feel better.

You have to admit, it's a nice refreshment for the more standard EA-bashing.

Ugh,...Guess I STILL wont be able to launch the game. Good thing I didn't have my hopes up - past experience with that only feeds a growing resentment.

Oh come on. Why is certification taking so long? Wasn't this in certification *before* the console versions?

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

You all better pipe down or Bioware might turn that patch around and go right back to vanilla.

This certification is taking way to long. Really do not understand why they have to release at the same time for PC and Console. Been waiting since release to play this bugfest of a game.

T  H  I  S

People complain when a game is in development to long, people complain when a game is rushed because of the bugs.....same thing applies to patches.  Id rather them take their time making sure the patch works as advertised so I don't need to be back here complaining the patch needs a patch......<_<

I don't complain about a game taking too long to be released. I know that it takes time to make a quality product. Reading the patch notes, I would say that the newest version of DA2 is how it should have been released in the first place. I would not mind another three or four months of developing time when I get a game that is actually finished in the end.
And even the newest patch apparently doesn't fix the Import issues from Awakening (apart from the romance flags and approval ratings) - but as annoying as that may be, I guess you can't blame the patch team for that, since it is an issue with Awakening and not DA2. But it still delays my next playthrough for who knows how long, since playing with a broken import seems pretty pointless to me.

As Luke explained yesterday:

Luke Barrett wrote...

Hopefully soon, there was a last
minute change to the PC patch which is why it didn't come out before
consoles as it normally does. The process to get the patch out for PC is
quite short so I don't imagine it will be a long wait unless something
else requires a critical fix.

Also note that the team is working on TWO patches right now... PC 1.03 for DA2 and PC 1.05 for Origins.

Does this means that we won't see patch 1.03 until 1.05 is released? Please, I would like to know, and I think more people too, if we should be expecting this patch soon or maybe a few weeks later. Thanks in advance ;)

Well, it's released when it's sufficiently tested that EA is satisfied with it so it can be released. It can't be too hard for you to grasp that this is something that can't be determined beforehand, especially as it can require further changes to the patch.

Not at all.  I have no inside info, but I believe its more likely we'll see DA2's patch first-- it's already been released in other forms.  The DAO patch addresses some lingering DLC authorization issues, and it will be beta tested by some users before it is released into the wild.  So, no, I expect DA2 Patch 1.03 first.

I was merely pointing out that the guys are busy on many fronts.  They're pros... they can handle it.  ^_^
