I really hope the Exiled Prince/Black Emporium crashes are fixed in this. I've had some bugs (notably the "missing first lines" one) but nothing that really prevented me from playing until those. Got it at the midnight release and I'm still in Act II because of that :(

^^ Me too.  I went so far as to completely air-dust the inside of my tower, thinking that the problem was on my end.  It's good to know that I'm not the only one experiencing it.  The worst part is that when I try to tell people about it, they ask me a bunch of technical lettery-numbery questions.  "What spec does your HA4Q7 route driver run at?"...and that sort of thing.  I noticed that on a lot of "help sites" people post this long collection of numbers and letters that represent how thier computer works.  Where do you pull that info up at?

*Update*  I finally made it through "Repentance" without the game crashing.  Here's what I did:  I made 22.4GB of free space on my computer.  I went through the entire quest in one sitting, without saving or quick-saving (the auto-save still happened though).  I didn't equip any of the items I found during the quest.

I'm hoping that the same measures help me get through the Exiled Prince quest in Act 3.  Now, I just need the next patch to come out so I can get my barrel points during "Night Terrors".

Really can't believe some are so ready to pounce on those who complain about DX11 stability.

Bet their tone would be quite different if they were in that "subset."

My whole point has only EVER been that those same folk can select DX9 as the renderer and PLAY THE GAME. Which is exactly what they are complaining that they can't do.

They CAN also chop off their balls and adopt a bengal Tiger. They were comlaining that they can't play on dx 11 and since that's what they want to do and Bioware told on the package it's possible I would be pissed too, if I were them.

I am actually able to play on dx11, not that I'm doing it anymore since I had my share of gray walls for the next 2 years Oo But I wanted to ask what we can expect of the "Certification" progress.... it worked so well with the last patch since that one didn't even fix like half of the bugs it was supposed to.

I hope for everyone they'll get the patch out soon and everyone can get their fair share of disappointment if they weren't able to get it yet, since that's what they paid for.

Just what was 1.02 supposed to fix that it didn't?

will there be a list of fixes before you release the patch?

I second this. I don't mean every single code cleanup or syntax correction, but a bit more comprehensive list than the one for 1.02 would be muchly appreciated. The previous patch addressed "over 100 major and minor" issues, but only a couple of dozen (or a few dozen if you count that first item as several) were listed. Or is there is some reason you guys are a bit vague about listing them?

Keep up the good work, really looking forward to the new patch and perhaps a fresh playthrough. <3

This statement (as the opening of your response) makes no sense to me.  The issue I was addressing was the complaint that somehow the lack of stable DX11 implementation on some percentage of (all the possible) system configurations out there made the game unplayable.  I pointed out that this was not the case.

You seem to feel that that would be the equivalent of self-mutilation, and I just can't see it...

One can hope that whatever technical problems those players have encountered, (and as you say, it's certainly not everyone with DX11-capable systems) they are corrected in this next patch.

But whether this has been fixed or not:

a) can't be determined in advance for any specific individual's system; and
B) doesn't keep those players from being able to play the game RIGHT NOW.

That is awesome news, but fail to see why the 200 fixes can not be posted?

If for whatever reason something gets left out or doesn't work in all cases or has to be manually removed for the patch for any reason and we had previously said it would be in the patch an angry e-mob would immediately form and start demanding heads and the like. :pinched:

I'd love to disclose what's supposed to be in it just like I'd LOVE to be able to disclose information about the upcoming story DLC but unfortunately these things are done like this for a reason.  Something something patience something something. B)

I've got a sneaking suspicion that the story DLC is iminent (i.e. sometime within the next month), but that we won't hear any more about it until the QC team finds out how it plays with patch 1.03.

Note that I said "sneaking suspicion." That's a far cry from "fact."

Awesome news! I'm looking forward to playing DA2 again in the near future; I haven't been able to get into it because of the unresolved issues.

I can give you a confident "as far as I know" or a somewhat shakey "yes". Which would you prefer? :)

Will these fixes again require starting a new campaign or have they been designed to be retroactive? I've started another play through and I'm about 33% through Act I, wondering whether its okay to keep playing or if I should just wait/restart.

It will be a mix. Stat corruption fixes (including the Slo Mo Hawke issue) will generally be retroactive as will a variety of other fixes. Some fixes will only be retroactive to a certain point (i.e. if the patch is applied prior to embarking on the Deep Roads Expediition, etc) and others may not be retroactive at all.

Hope that helps,
Rob

and now witcher 2 is falling into the same category....damn patches
