Wait so has mages resistance to haste (along with Fenris) been fixed? I'm sick of having haste only last like six seconds on my party.

Should be.

Will the changelog or notes for the patch detail what exactly the import fixes are? Cause part of the problem (*cough*especially with no toolset update *cough*) is not knowing whether what you're seeing in the game is actually whats supposed to be triggering or if its still something messed up. Like if a certain dialogue doesn't trigger, you wouldn't know it necessarily if its buried away never to be found due to an import/scripting issue.

And these other import issues which weren't addressed- will they be things patched for Origins or Awakening? And will we know what import bugs they are that weren't addressed and/or could not be fixed?

Will Zevran finally know that he was in a romance with the Warden?

I do not see Aveline's 4th armor upgrade appearing on the guy's (don't remember his name) body as fixed. It was supposed to fixed in the first patch but it wasn't. Was it fixed?

It was but it cached the very first time you went in to that area in that act so you'd basically had to have been playing from before going in to that act to see it.

If you're referring to the fix in the first patch, I had done a new playthrough and the upgrade still wasn't there.

I have to concur with Radwar - I just finished my very first play through with v. 1.02 patch and I never received Aveline's 4th piece of armor.

In reference to Aveline's armor upgrade in Favor and Fault. I received it on Saturday, as advertised.

Looking over the patch notes, I see general improvements to an already great combat systerm. Really good work in this area of the game.

I hope the dialog clipping of the first lines of ambiant dialog has been fixed for my Steam download version of the game.

Any advice on starting a new toon ? It was the case i believe that there were many problems with importing from Dragon Age Origins, Awakening, and subsequent DLC.

I have only played Dragon Age 2 once so far with a brand new Mage toon.

I would like to consider playing on with my Melee toon from Dragon Age Origins etc, but this might give me unnecessary problems still if i import ?

A Bioware response to this question would be most appreciated.......

All the Best ........Blade

Erm, just to be on the safe side and to avoid you becomming disappointed: you do realise you don't exactly continue playing with your Origin's character? DA2 is always with a new character named Hawke, all the import does is set some flags about your Warden did in DA:O relating to a couple of cameos and specific quests in DA2.

If you already knew that feel free to ignore this. I just got a little confused by your wording.

Can you, please, clarify what was not fixed? Those import issues were the main reason why I never bothered with another DA2 playthrough. And all gameplay improvements aside - you said a while back, if it can't be fixed in DA2, because the issue is rooted in DA:O (or DA:A), you'd go back and fix it there. Is this still planned?

Does this mean that the issue of romance flags from DA:O, Awakening and it's DLC not being recognized in DA2 was fixed, or does that fall into "issues we cannot
fix directly in DA2"?

Clarification on this issue would be much appreciated Luke.

I'm afraid the answer is no, according to that last statement made by Bioware 16 hours ago about the upcoming 1.05 patch for DA:O:

We're proceeding in priority order. The DLC authentication issues are both critical and complex so it's important that we focus there first. Once that's resolved to our satisfaction, we'll make a further decision as to how we ought to proceed with the remaining issues that we're now tracking.

Wait?  What?  The "main reason" you didn't play through DA2 again was the incorrect recognition of a relationship with a character who doesn't even appear (except by reference) at all, and who's actions have ZERO impact on the course of the game itself?  Wow!

Considering the number of possible variations in the World End-State settings, multiplied by the number of different character saves that a player might select to import, (while forgetting that some details might have been"different" in that particular save) I'm amazed that DA2 seems to do so well with it at all.

(And if it's that important, there's always the "hand-edit" method of modifying things in the import to be they way you believe they should be...  )

For me, I'm waiting on playing to see what issues come up and get reports, fixes. For now, I'm going to site back an wait for these next patch's (DOA 1.05, DA2 1.03). DAO UE was a big headake at times for me. Almost walked away. Hope they come out very soon. I'd rather have a good enjoyable first time though this time.

Approval rating issues (anything that stopped working because the import was from DAA or onward) will all be fixed. Every other issue was fixed (or not) individually. I can't go in to too much detail as to which ones were fixed and which weren't - mostly because I'm not 100% confident that the ones that were fixed will work in all cases. I can tell you specifically that the Nathaniel quest is rooted in the DAA bug where anyone left at the keep was considered dead by the game and as such there is nothing we can do directly in DA2.

As to the question of these (and a few other) issues being fixed in DAO/A with a patch to that game: all the bug and report work is written up for all the DAO/A issues that were brought up as still occurring over the last month and we're working on freeing up resources to work on that. Unfortunately, any time reactivity (plot flags) is changed it must be fully tested in both the game it was changed in as well as EVERY subsequent game to make sure nothing breaks further on - this is an insanely time heavy process. In the mean time, I'll be gathering a bunch of community made fixes for DAO/A and doing a quick test case on all of them to check the validity of the fixes and then bundle them together as a sort of 'officially unofficial patch' for everyone.

We're working very hard to rectify all the remaining plot flag issues going forward so that this process isn't repeated in future titles but you'll have to be patient - the work flow is very complex and exhaustive.

Hopefully soon, there was a last minute change to the PC patch which is why it didn't come out before consoles as it normally does. The process to get the patch out for PC is quite short so I don't imagine it will be a long wait unless something else requires a critical fix.

I know several modders who will be saying "It's about time! "  (But we mean that in a good way.Image IPB  )

Seriously, given the enormous amount of work regression testing requrires, this is probably the best we're gonna get for something that isn't "game-breaking".  So I'm really happy to hear it.

My thanks to all the folk at BioWare who are still concerned about DA:O functionality, and to you and Rob, for keeping us up-to-date!

As long as Zevran does not come back from the death again I'll be almost satisfied. I can live without romance plot flags, I'll try... :crying:. Thanks for the updates, I hope you can achieve with this patch making me return to play this game, because I don't want to keep playing as long as most of the important flags don't import correctly. I mean, I don't really have much time to spend on a playthrough I won't be satisfied because of an importing issue. I want them to be as correct a spossible, so they will keep going to future Dragon Age games or DLCs :).
