You said something bad about DA2. I will now say I will not buy TW2 to demonstrate your praising of TW2 is a bad thing. I hope this lukewarm attempt at Pavlovian style training works on your feeble minds.
Sincerely,

If I can't even get the first Witcher to work no way in hell am I even thinking about the second one.
That's the way to do it! Myself, I loved the BG Trilogy, still one of my favourite games. Later Bioware RPG's I wasn't that keen on. When DA:O came around, I decided to give it a try one time, picked up the Complete Edition. Played for a day or two, then had some bug with my internet connection going down, and being unable to play the content I'd paid for, in a SinglePlayer game! How ridiculous is that? But I learned, much like you, and decided to uninstall there and then, and vowed there was no way in Hell I was ever going to even think about buying another game from Bioware.
On the other hand, picked up TW1 EE about 14 months ago, had no problems with it at all. Picked up TW2 on Tuesday (go GoG preorder... fantastic deal and package) and am having no problems with it either. And it's a great game.

Well honestly The Witcher 2 isn't an RPG so we don't have to worry about it.
and I am being honest about that, if you look at it even games like modern Elder scrolls, Dragon Age, and others are more like Action/Adventure games than RPG's
I haven't played The Witcher 2 so I won't comment on if it a good game or not but these games have been gravitating away from pure RPG formula to the more hack and slash formula.
Ummm you customize a character's abilites, watch them become a badass, roleplay in dialogue...how is it not an rpg?

I'm sure there are room for both companies. Plus I'm waiting for Witcher 2 to come on consoles, so I won't have to pay my eyes out just to play one game. Would gladly buy it that way. The game does seem interesting.
I'd buy it a third time if it came to consoles just because it's so great and it would give my friends a chance to play.

Cool. Well if they did that smart move, I'd go for it.

That remains to be seen. So far, TW2 rips completely rips apart ME2's and especially ME1's ass, as well as all other BioWare games (except KOTOR)KenKenpachi wrote...

They've done so much ruthless retconning of ME2 I'll be amazed if they can wrap it up in a convincng manner.

Now thats just Bull ****
Baldur's Gate 1? Sucked, forced myself to complete my playthrough (though I still haven't played BG2)
Neverwinter Nights? Main quest sucked, most of the game was boring. (expansions were better though, but I'm not counting those)
KOTOR? Well, ok, KOTOR is still the best game of the 00s.
Jade Empire? I had great fun my first playtrough. I can't get into it again, tried so many times, too boring now it seems.
ME1? The universe and cinematic value was awesome, the rest not so much. The squad mates were bland and boring, gameplay sucked, soundtrack mediocre ...
DAO? Well, Origins is pretty awesome, but I got bored as hell in my second playthrough. A matter of preference here.
ME2? ME2 was awesome, I won't deny that. Everything was greatly improved from the first game. If only it didn't have so many plot holes and didn't dumb it down so much.
DA2? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just pissy ass BG is all some of you like, a game that if released now would be a smash hit, as anything thats indie and sells more than 500 copies is a block buster. Actully you no what some of you, just stop posting and use this for every post you make, please
And also I've always stoped short of the fallowing, but if thats how it is, just GTFO. Serriously its like Rockers who hate Rap hanging out on a rap site, go to your new saviors site, its not that active, and BSN has a ton of bandwith problems. Your leaving would be a great help.

uh-huhThe Witcher 2 has taken over the RPG genre.
bladrunner 1995 pc game has about six- main quest lines with two distincly different choices leading to multiple plays and a multitude of endings. (siding with scotia`tael or vernon roche)
jedi knight jedi acadeny has light & dark endings
KOTOR HEEELLOOOOOO!
Vampire the masquerade bloodlines & VTM redemption
Parasite Eve
cant b arsed to do ne more
DA:O !!!- mature themes and no clithe stories
ME 1&2!!
KOTOR ME 1&2moral decisions in the game are presented with a neutral standpoint and are satisfying (not about choosing the really good or really bad, more of choosing the lesser of two evils or choosing rather to kill someone then and there as opposed to running and doing his errand)
- conclusions to main quests have BIG IMPACT - do you kill the king or not! and influences the next chapter and beyond, incredible branching of story and creating new story lines on multiple playthroughs.
are you even listening to yourself! congrates hears theTLDR: fk BIOWARE and the piece of sht that is DA2, TW2 is a triple AAA title RPG gamers deserve, and it was released by an independant company. Step up your game BIOWARE, don`t fk up ME3 and don`t release anymore DA, you killed the IP - congrats..!

enjoy you have earned this congrates!!!
truely buddy i havn't met anyone who deserves this more than you

Endings? TW2 has 2 completely different ACTs with completely different quests etc. Basically think, 2 completely different games in one. Or think DA2 if Acts 2 & 3 played NOTHING like your first playthrough (in both main story and sidequests)rolson00 wrote...

KOTOR, VTMB all had one little scene changed at end, and basically no consequences of your actions.

DAO? Not cliche? Mature?

DAO was no more mature and no less cliche than Fable.
ME1? They basically just copy pasted most of the story from KOTOR and changed the names.
Well ok, maybe I'll give you ME2
Wait, what? Besides a little different scene and minor line changes, there were absolutely NO CONSEQUENCES of your actions.KOTOR ME 1&2

Wow, now I definitely won't get Witcher 2.
I played it for 7 hours.
It sucked like sh*t and I deleted it from my computer soon afterwards and got a refund for it (thankfully I didn't buy a digital version).
If you don't like Geralt. The game will probably be ruined for you since you're stuck following the white haried, scared, golden cat eyed Geralt from the behind for the whole game. His voice also feels poor and they've given him the typical rough antihero voice that the Two Worlds II (TWII lol) hero has too.
Unlike traditional RPGs like Divine Divinity, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and pretty much most Dungeon and Dragons games, the class system is very small and lacks in varity. You can level up in magic and sword and give Geralt a few new abilities but that's it. You can't make him into a wizard, cleric, paladin or what have you. He always feels like a battle mage (warrior + wizard) and this feeling was present in The Witcher (which I played till the end).
Put simply. RPG elements feel dumbed down.
I can't believe people consider this game a traditional RPG when the character cutomization is lacking and feels like that of an action RPG (Rise of the Argonauts comes to mind here).
Graphics are beautiful but who cares? Some of us still play old RPGs such as Baldur's Gate, NWN and Divine Divinity, graphics don't matter.
Dialogue? It's following the same road as Dragon Age 2. You get some dialogue on the screen and when you select it, something else that is different from the dialogue is said.
Combat looks like Assassin's Creed combat but plays totally different. It's actually worse. The camera becomes awful when you enter combat and has a terrible frame rate, weapon swings look fake (but not as fake as Dragon Age 2's combat swings) and you only pretty much ever need to use the same tactic:
Cast spell at enemy. Roll to him. Attack him. Cast spell at next enemy. Roll to him. Kill him. Most importantly, don't get involved in attacking a group. It's not hard combat, just stupid. I've seen many people also using these tactics on YouTube and others kite. Dragon Age 2's poor combat is still better.
Finally voice acting. It's improved from the original for most characters but just like the original. Characters lack facial animation which makes them less believable characters.
The only good part of the game was the easter egg I found showing Altair from Assassin's Creed dead after jumping into some hay.

This isn't a blank template RPG like for instance TES games have. Given the boundaries of the game lore, is still rather flexible - you get 3 distinct styles of play of which one style isn't a direct template ripoff of D&D which is the alchemy heavy spec, although it may be considered a "mage" in a very abstract way.
I don't feel like addressing the rest, but this commentary about classes is one glaring thing you're approaching in a wrong way for this game.
