Seeing as ME3 is just around the corner, I been itching to get back and play the whole series from the start. My question is, is it a good idea to install ME1 to my xbox HD? I'm asking because it wasn't exactly optmised for the hard drive as it came out years before that patch arrived. What are the benefits of installing it, and will there be any side effects ie will it mess with my save files once I move on to ME2?

I don't have an XBox myself, but I haven't seen any problems with installation reported on these forums. And some people say it helps reduce loading times and such. If you have the room, I don't think it would be a bad idea.

If you have enough hard drive space (i.e. 6+ GB), you can try installing it. Personally, I highly recommend that you do. It certainly won't completely stop the texture popups. but it's worth it if only to have faster loading times and less occasional lag. Also, your console runs smoother when a game is installed, as the game disk doesn't spin and everything is being read directly from the hard drive.
Do it. Highly recommended. Also install ME2 (both disks) if you can.
