Remember the ME2 trailer where it shows Shepard Grunt and thane walking away from the camera, and then it pulls out and shows the huge collector ship.
I think it would be cool it it showed just the back of shepard looking up at a Reaper coming down, and there would be other reapers in the background descending. It's kind of hard to explain. There would also be some tall buildings either on fire or already starting to come down.
That's just me, but I think that would be awesome.
Who do you want, or predict will be, on the cover of ME3?

Shepard will obviously be on the cover...
...other than that, I believe that a devastated Earth will also be featured in some form, whether it be a shot from space or the ruins of a city after a Reaper attack.
That being said, I don't think a Reaper (singular) will be on there. If they put a Reaper on the cover somewhere, it would probably be more than one, to emphasize the odds and what we're up against.
Besides that, James Vega or Anderson might be on there, since another human has been on both previous covers. Also, another alien squadmember will be on there, as Garrus was on ME1's cover and Thane was on ME2's cover. Given the difference between the permanent and temporary squadmates, I don't know who that would be.

Shepard and every single playable character in the cover and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco behind them being damaged

Because of that one 'cover'-esque screenshot that reminded me of all the Shepard/Miranda/Thane images, I'm thinking it'll be Sheploo, Liara and Kaidan. Alternately, they may replaced Kaidan with James Vega.
Who would I want on the cover? Either nobody (I love the ME2 CE cover), or Shepard, Garrus and Ashley with an option for a FemShep variant. Hey, a girl can dream.

I'm pre-ordering the biggeest collector edition as soon as its announced, so as long as that cover doesn't suck, ill be good.

I'd prefer to have all confirmed returning squadmates on the cover and leave a vaguely human silhouette in the middle.

Shepard and two squadmates walking down the crumbling, deserted street of a recognizable city on Earth, with ghostly forms of turians, humans and salarians lining the walls of rubble, all standing in defensive poses. Above him, Reapers rain down on Earth, and TIM's eyes are faintly visible above the scene, except they're lookung out from behind the descending Reapers. Maybe throw Big Ben into the background to tie it in with the teaser trailer.
I'm thinking of it being an homage to the old-fashioned poster style associated with Western movie epics, ala ME1's cover, but with a lot more negative space to make it look contemporary and reflect the sci-fi genre.

I think they need to take cues from the starwars covers. Those were amazing covers that are iconic now.

Something as epic as ME1's cover

Well, I'm sure manly-man man Shepard is going to be on the cover. Because he's a marketing tool and has been on the cover of all the previous Mass Effect games. Whether I like him or not.
Personally though, if it were me... I would do a cover of Earth just being destroyed by the Reapers. With a descending Reaper, and smaller Reapers, closer to Earth, surrounding the planet and dotting the cover with those ominous, haunting lights of theirs. And Shepard nowhere on the cover, because this isn't just about him/her anymore.
Hell if it were me I would've made Shepard and co smaller on the second game's cover, so there would be a progression of just how big the picture is getting in each passing game. Not stick figure small but still smaller than "BLAM I'M ON THE COVER IN YO' FACE" yeah? But that's just me.

ME2 would've been the most opportune part of the trilogy to go all Star Wars for the cover because personal dramas were being explored. For ME3, something extra gotta be done to communicate the scale of the battle being fought. Entire civilizations are at stake.

Occulo you are wrong. While the larger picture is larger than Shepard, the game revolves around Shepard. The player creates and lives through Shepard, Shepard's every actions are at the player's whim, and the greatest appeal about the ME series is not that earth has been attacked (how many times had that happened?) but that the player can explore a new galaxy through the eyes of their own personal character, whether it be a John Shepard or a Jane Shepard.
To exclude one of the main pillars of the series from the cover would be terrible marketing.

No one that could have died. No Wrex, Garrus, Ashley, Kaiden, Tali, Garrus, Thane etc.

I say; manshep and femshep standing side by side. Manshep carries an assault rifle and femshep has a shotgun and biotic amp. HA, but that'll never happen because it would "confuse" people new to the series.

Shepard looking bad-ass. With tons of reapers in the background, and....maybe Blasto the jellyfish.

Standard Edition: Shep by himself in some setting.
Collector's Edition: Shep's portrait in the center, squadmates portraits around him in a circle, and The Reaper(s) in the background.

Mshep should be on the cover with Ash, Tali, Garrus, and the/ a reaper.
Or that one mock cover one of the other threads has where it's shep walking through a destroyed city that was fun that one perfectly sums up it's mass effect and it's hell in one photo.

Whatever happens, I think the "Better with Kinect" bar should go. Kinect is no big deal, it's in the game fine. But please, you must at least realize that the stupid bar is uglier than sin. Please Bioware, if you love your fans, don't leave that purple little bar.
