When do you think it'll be released?

Hopefully, when it's done, and not before!!!!

So, they're working on a new Dragon Age game after all.

Well, as far as this subject is concerned, I only have one question for Bioware: should I lower my expectations for all future Dragon Age games? Because I had sky-high expectations for DA2, and when I finally played it, I felt burned.

In contrast, I gave Mass Effect 2 9/10 at GameSpot and replayed it three times. This is because I always had low expectations of the Mass Effect games - give me some good gunplay and a decent story and I'm happy. And I want to be happy when I play video games.

So what is it going to be, Bioware? Should I lower my expectations? Too early to answer? No worries, I'll ask again when you're ready.

I meant a release date...though that would be good, too! :P

That's assuming of course the Red engine can be adapted to give you full party control like in DA. I don't want to go back to a henchman system like in ME or NWN or something.

Personally I think DA3 would be great.

Bioware has failed to capture the true essence of what majority of the players wanted with DA2. However, only one who has known failure could possibly succeed.

I have the utmost faith in Bioware that they would turn DA3 into a roaring success.

Say what you will about Dragon Age 2, but they are coming out with another one. Personally I think they will combine the good elements of both games and make an outstanding game. Read the article below.

keep the combat, new story but stick to a non cliche plot, make it darker in terms of story not graphics two very different things. When will DA actually feel like a "dark heroic fantasy"?

Non cliche'd? At this point its cliched to be non cliched.

*Ahem*

In all seriousness I am looking forward to it. I enjoyed DA2 even with its flaws. I just seriously hope Bioware will give the game the Dev time it needs. That seems to be the only thing DA2 needed to shine.

Also, Bring Hawke Back!

Really? I put much more expectation on the ME series than the DA series. There hasn't been anything truly great in the DA series since the first entry. Awakening disappointed and so did DA2.

What can I say? I'm spoiled by that aspect of ME.

Seriously though, unless they can somehow work out a way into pulling the Warden into the game Hawke is the most likely person to return. I don't know if I can get attatched to yet another new protagonist.

(I should note I was never attatched to the warden, but thats another discussion)

Perhaps, but I guess I'm the stubborn type who needs official confirmation to get the message.

I hope neither Warden nor Hawke return. I want a whole new protagonist for DA3. This isn't a series about one person.

I'd like to be able to import my Dragon Age II file into Dragon Age III. That way, I am the mistress of my own destiny! RAWR!

I want Hawke to return so he can have a proper story. While I enjoyed how Hawke was just kinda surviving through his story, he barely had any significant part in it. (That and I want too see all the LI return)

I would like to visit Tevinter. I hear it's nice this time of year.

On a serious note. I do hope a future DA takes place in Tevinter. With the whole evil mage government at war with the Qunari, slavery and other nasty stuff, Tevinter is potentially a great setting full of tough moral choices if done right.

That's a great point.  Anytime anyone complains about video games, music, movies or books these days, someone comes right in and delivers the same ole line, "You're expectations were just too high"

So I guess we all have to live in the Land of Low Expectations from now on, or we're just bound to be dissappointed.  I for one have been guarding my enthusiasm for Mass Effect 3, Bioware is just so desperate to reach out to the CoD crowd that they might be willing to try anything, cut anything, or gut anything.

I can't start thinking about Dragon Age 3 this early, that's too many questions and speculations. The main question being, Are David Gaider and Mike Laidlaw going to be at the helm again?

Eh, it's too early for people to start stressing out over DA3.

Tevinter's a wonderfully fruitful place to place a game.

Take your time on this one, Bioware. I'm sure you can come up with a whole 5 environments and blow us all away.

LOL!  Who would have imagined that any gamer would have to even suggest whole environments to a AAA+ developer like Bioware?

Wow, things really have changed if that's the sort of thing we have to drop in the suggestion box.

I want Hawke to return too, as a lootable corpse complete with a proper story on how that failure met an ignoble death at the hands of crippled dwarven trannies in a back alley of some hell hole.

Also, unsurprising new is unsurprising. Makes me wonder if they haven't decided to simply release the lone piece of DLC undoubtedly already in the works at release time, having delayed it a bit to take some feedback into account and try and win back disgruntled customers, then drop it and go straight to DA3.

Seriously though, guys, two years development time this go around. At minimum. Three would be better, four is pushing it although it'd be great.

And for god's sake, get a new engine to go with the environmental artists. Frostbite 2, if it can work with RPGs, would be ideal given it's inside EA and thus would be cheap to licence.

The important thing to take from the source tweet isn't that there will be a DA3 (which is no surprise really) but that they are increasing the size of the envioronmental team.
Which more specifically means they're directly addressing the complaints about recycled maps.Image IPB

I guess not enough people cried abbout the crippling gameplay/story segregation for them to hire people to attend that
