Um... nothing was good about DA2...

I would think if something good existed that was worth enough... I might be able to feel it wasn't work to actually play the game...

Game's are for fun... not work.

yea..... there were some good things about DA2.

Companions, fully voiced character, Act 2, Ogres getting stuck in a wall if they ram into it, Mabari companion, Sandal, Athenril, and some others.

In your opinion.

meh sure imo. I thought that was impliedImage IPB

they need to tweak some stuff to get it completely perfect for DA3. And by tweak, I mean tweak not overhaul.

What's wrong with familliarizing yourself with new tech? It's just another learning experience(I assume), like driving. And I think CDP Red would be wlling to license it.

It's about time and money. It's much cheaper and time efficient to use the in house engine that you have experience with, than it is to license the third party engine you don't.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.Image IPB

This is Bioware we're talking about here. If they were a resturaunt and you complained that you meal was undercooked, they'd whip out a flamethrower and go to town on it.

Not what they did with DA2, IMO. My only wants for a sequel to Origins were better graphics and the different races altering the story line a bit more. That's it.

This version will be the greenest yet. There will be only one map and a single opponent.

I was just commenting on Bioware's  tendency to "improve" things by either drasticly changing it or removing it entirely.

That's not to say some of what they overhauled isn't now amazing

combat for Archers and mages is amazing and damn near perfect if it isn't already.

Two-handed warriors though should start swinging slowly and as you improve your strength your attack speed increases. I think Ali has seen me post that idea somewhere else.

My opinion on Dagger Rogues and S&S Warriors is neutral. I think it could be improved upon slightly but I'm ok with how it is now.

Yeah, but they removed a lot of stuff from the original game that worked. DA2 was simply change for the sake of change, I feel.

I generally agree I just have to question how smart it was to change so much, when you have such a short development time.

it's both good and bad. It saves them the trouble to have to change it intensely in the future, but it meant that DA2 suffered because of it due to the short dev cycle. A gradual change might've been detrimental I feel.

I agree, a lot of the changes seemed arbitrary.

I hope Bioware has listened to the fans and does changes towards the future to bring the best of both games into the third. I don't want them to rush it this time, develop it for 3 or 4, hell even 5 years time. If they do well at it I'm sure it will be an astounding game to look forward too.

I had to wait 7 years for Origins. I did so because it was another fantasy RPG from BioWare. And it was hyped up as the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. I'm pretty sure I can do that again if it gives me another Origins, instead of another DA2.

Same here. BioWare popped my RPG cherry, to put it in a crude way, but there ya have it. I can wait for years for another game of the caliber of DAO than get a shorter time and another DA2.

Black Isle Studios did that to me with PS: TImage IPB

I sort of agree on the new title, except I would call it: Dragon Age: City of Chains
I didn't play DA:O, I intend on buying it, which doesnt really matter right now, but I watched multiple playthroughs, each one got me hooked to the game, the story, so when DAII came out I had to buy it. I loved DAII as a game, but it felt more like a side game then a game in the main series. I will buy the next Dragon Age, I inted on buying any story DLC in DAII, but only because I'm trying to think of this game as a separate game.

I'm sure development on DA3 started before DA2 was even finished. Woprkload gets different in crunch time and alot of people could be moved to work on the next game.

Game a year NOT game of the year. Get a cheap and fast DA title out every year or two and slang tons of crappy DLC armor and weapons that cost basically nothing to produce and just milk the customer ... milk milk milk ****es.

Holy mxxxxx!  I welcome you with wide open arms!

maybe this time quarter assed? =]

And honestly now I don't have much hope for BW, they need cataclysm or same ol` same ol`

I am 95% sure they will figure out a new way to cleverly deceive customers and cut time/ resources provided with a LITTLE amount of interface/ inventory/ combat skill improvement.

Of course there will not be much interactivity in environment, nor detail of anything with bland and lazy level design and non customisable armor.

And it WILL BE CALLED MASS EFFECT 3.

Just see what happens, I am very much positive not much of my prediction will go proven wrong.

It would be super if they prove me wrong, but fat chance.

Guess we'll have to wait and see cuz opinions now don't mean squat till the game comes out.

This actually occurs in DA2, just not because of increased strength (which would make a bit more sense).  Compare a 2-handed Warrior at the start of the gameto a 2-handed Warrior specced Reaver/Berserker under the effect of Haste, with increased attack speed gear and the Act 3 rune at the end of the game, even after the nerf.

I thought dual-wielding Rogues were too disgustingly overpowered in this game (see: dual-wielding Warriors in DAO for reference).  They were a blast to play, though...

Except haste and the "increase attack speed" are meant to do that for everyone. I know it's present there but those are more magical enhancements rather than practice = perfection. The only one that comes close to what I'm asking for is the Berserker's Barrage talent.

What I want for DA3 is more Morrigan and more Warden. And even in 18 months I think BW could make a decent game with a decent story. Imagine, you are Hawke, the Warden (I hope) or whoever and all the game is about main quests by eliminating the side quest and using the same graphic engine that DA2. That would be enough to make a good story, just imagine that instead of being collecting toxines for someone you are doing a mission of the main quest, that would create a very good story for the game.

The only problem with bringing the Warden back is he/ she is a text based speaker and the world of DA has moved on. So while I agree with seeing the Warden again I'm hoping it's from afar.

If they are making anothere DA game, then they better take their time with it. In my opinion, DA2 was not as bad as people were saying but it could have been a hell of a lot better with some extra time involved into the development.
