After playing TW2 I simply cannot conceive the idea of going back and finishing my latest DA2 run. Stopped a new Hawke at level 22 and that's it. Was a good game for what's worth. Gave me 5 full runs and one incomplete.

Can we lock this and go back discussing TW2 and helping each other as we discover this fraking awesome game piece by piece?

TW2: Choosing different factions --> Do different quests, experience different game content, gives a real reason for replay value.
DA2: Choosing different factions --> Do the...exact same thing? Experience the...exact same game content? :crying:

But ... but ... with DA2 I get to have sex ... with my companions ... gay scene ... straight sex ... furry sex! No seriously, that particular sex scene with a certain sorceress and a certain white wolf just blew every single sex scene bioware had in their game out of the water. It was both sensual and hilarious at the same time.

I am replaying both game side by side, and sucking it up a little bit that DA2 didn't allow me to play the game as a crazy dwarven commoner/gangster/serial baby eater, but, the Witcher 2's world is just more enjoyable to me.  So is the gameplay, no more of those ninja assassins jerks. (> . >)

I don't think a 0/10 rating is entirely undeserved if the game is like TW1 (which I bought because *everyone* was telling me how great TW1 is) - a protagonist I don't care about involved in events I don't care about, too many fetch quests, combat alternating between boring and impossible (chapter one escort mission - VIP dies in 0.3s, Beast stunlocks me constantly), terrible voice acting (the characters' lines are completely unconnected), redundant skill trees (half the enemies will dodge strong style), pointless sex thrown in for some reason I can't fathom.
At the end of the day I completed ME1 10+ times, DA2 once, and only got to chapter 3 in TW.

Well, it depends on your definition of 0/0. Could be an extremely minute score, or an exorbitant score grasping the scale of the universe.

There is NO way that
Witcher2 can outsell DA2 being a PC exclusive title and looking at so
many pirates in PC gaming. DA2 indeed reaps a huge amount of cash if you
asked me.

Except sales statistics are non-existent or at least not available to the public for the PC version of Dragon Age 2.
While I don't condone piracy--and please don't construe this as such--, I can see more people pirating DA2 than The Witcher 2.

DA2 was 60$ for PC on Steam, and TW2 was 45$ on Steam (now 50$). The sheer amount of content in TW2 is exponentially larger than DA2, the graphics are artistically and technically better, each dungeon is unique and not recycled a dozen times, the animations are much more fluid, allowing for better combat aesthetic and freedom... I could go on, but then you'd call me a TW2 fanboy when I'm not.

Bioware needs to return to Baldur's Gate and make The Black Throne or whatever BG3 was to be named, and they need to return to an isometric perspective. This action-y Mass Effect and Dragon Age era, while good in its own regard, doesn't come close to the quality Bioware was pushing out in the PC games of yore.

If you take Metacritic seriously thats your own problem.

Replace "Metacritic" with the word "forums" in your statement and then follow your own advice.

Thank you I will.  Never again will I take you seriously.

Congratulations - you win the 'most ridiculous post of the day' award.

Seriously, what a load of absolute drivel.

So you personally didn't like the game, it's plot, it's combat, or it's depiction of sex?  Ok.  Sure.  This somehow implies 0/10?  Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

People that think such as yourself are the reason that Metacritic has become filled with such garbage scores for games.  I like it?  10/10.  I don't like it?  0/10.  Posted Image

Agreed.

While I didn't like TW1 for almost all the same reasons as Alex, giving it a 0/10 is just as ridiculous as giving any other game a 0/10. A 0/10 implies the item in question is not only NOT a game, but somehow worse than the aquaman, and superman 64 games.

I'd rate the witcher on merits alone a 6-7/10. My personal enjoyment was negligible however.
