I watched a bit of the Network news about this Tonight and they were covering it live from Times Square and the idiot that blew his life savings (a little more than $140k) putting up Subway posters and signs all over the City was there and they got a bit of tape of him at around 6:03pm after nothing started happening and he looked a bit like someone walking out of a Casino after blowing the Mortgage money. By the time the Story ran at about 6:15pm he was long gone (apparently to quite a bit of laughing and jeering from the Crowd)
I honestly can't think of someone I feel less sorry for.

EDIT to Add: This was all supposed to take place at 6pm EDT apparently, so I guess that answers the question of what Time Zone God lives in.

I agree somewhat, but he should have known better. One man thats already did this crap before, has again. I mean if some massive sign from god or what have you came down, you would think numerous preachers from all religions globally would be calling out on it in support. In place all you got were a few idiots, and bad press while most of the Religious community wished they guy had kept his mouth shut.

I mean if some guy out on the fringe that was a farmer just ran up to you and said TODAY AT 3:30 the Court house will explode! And then it didn't...ehh you can forgive yourself for not going. IF he does it again and other Farmers go....Oh Hell Jimmy went to town again didn't he? And you buy it then...well shame on you.

The reason I think the guy's an idiot and I don't feel sorry for him (and this is a different person than the one who made the actual prediction for those loosing track of the players) is he really did think the Rapture was upon us and the best thing he could come up with to do with his Life Savings was buy Advertising for it. Not exactly an event you need to draw an audience to...everyone pretty much already has their Ticket to an Event like that.
He never thought to spend the money feeding the homeless? $140,000 could buy quite a few very hungry folks a last decent meal before the Event.

Honestly all these predictions are pointless, if your not living your life to the fullest by default then you shouldnt have to wait for a sign from 'your' gods in order to do so. If end happens then happens, if not then so be it. Instead of spending a life waiting for something to happen and listening to what others say about what might happen just go live your life instead. Lets face it if the s**t hits the fan and something someday does happen then so be it but if your going to waste your life preaching to others it might happen then you wasted your life because saying it will or not saying anything wont change the fact if it happens or if it does not.

I actually have seen UFOs tbh. This is not to be confused with little grey men running around with beady eyes though. It just means I saw something that I couldn't identify nothing more nothing less hence the (Unidentified)FO.

Actually, I think it's the Mayans - December something, 2012.

But you got the right idea - predict the end of the world to happen some time WELL after you'll be gone.  This way you don't get laughed at and called a nut when it doesn't happen . . . like some people with billboards right now.
