She can seduce Riordain all she wants. Even if she succeeds, the ending, I or Alistair or Loghain dies when they strike the final blow. Meaning the essence merged with that Grey Warden's which destroys the archdemon. It won't work that way, either.

1) I think, I would've loved to continue playing new extansions or the next game with my hero because, i came to like and also I like being a mage. Then, if there is an add-on or DAO 2, I will still make the same character so it's a shame that I can't keep continuing my journey with her. If I can keep her in the next game / add-on, I will willing to make sacrifice...

2) But honestly, I think it's not possible to keep our hero mostly because of the way he / can end unless you pick the ending where your hero continue to journey. We will have just new hero to make. :?

I hope it's option #1: that the character you played is the main character. I would really like to continue the story using the character I've played the game through.

True I forgot about the homing missile properties of the essence.

I have no idea. But I assume she has to be there for it to work. I haven't done this ending yet(will be doing that ending this run to ensure my female PC and Alistair can be together in the end).

You can directly ask Morrigan why it can't be Riordan instead of Alistair and she says he is to far gone to the taint.

Why bother with having you convince Alistair then?

It's possible shes lying, but wouldn't it be a whole lot easier to bag a guy that doesn't seriously hate her?

Alistair has only been a Grey Warden for 6 months longer than the PC. They are both new to the Grey Wardens while Riordain is probably getting close to taking his journey to the Deep Roads meaning his taint is stronger than it is in Alistair or the PC, meaning it wouldn't work the same(probably killing the child instead of infusing it with the essence).

Maybe because it's to force us to choose ? ^^

I don't know since we have few information about grey wardens and this ritual :o

Based on previous Bioware games (i.e. KOTOR NWNs etc) if a sequel is made it will most likely have references to previous events in DA:O but I seriously doubt that they would use the same character. Hopefully, unlike previous Bioware sequels (KOTOR II) the next next game won' be rushed and will be even more epic.

I doubt they'll hand this one off to Obsidian, they are too much for the IPs :D

I think people are assuming too much when they say that this will follow the lines of NWN and KOTOR.  It is pretty clear there is going to be a sequel and every hint in the game leads to the belief there are significant plot lines that will be unresolved by this game, purposefully so.  There probably will be a canon ending and of course its not Bioware's fault if you chose to suicide your character.  Remember previous Bioware games were much more combat based and less character based but this game seems to take its cues from Baldur's Gate, which is all about the main character and their influence on the world around them.  Also it would be kind of a middle finger to the gamer to set up those story lines and possibilities and then go "sorry, no one cares!!!!"

We obviously won't know what the game looks like for at least a year or so as it seems they are barely writing it.  Whatever the story, hopefully this game won't take five years to complete!
