Hahaha.. the level of butthurt on these forums is approaching critical mass at times. Obviously I too dislike many things in DA II like any good self respecting citizen shold. However, come the F on. Bioware too are allowed to release one mediocre game every once in  a while:p

 -  Spamming and harming two of their main franchises with complete and utter rip off DLCs.
 - DA II
That doesn't really make a very long list of sins imo:p Might be an idea to try and keep from unleashing all the nerd rage and reversed fanboi-ism for few more years/titles?

You can call Mass Effect II dumbed down if you insist  but it is still pretty undenialy an excellent game.

and Mass Effect 2 is a game that does a lot of things better than the first!

Sure. Honestly, I just refuse to believe there is somebody out there who prefers ME I's terrible and stale KOTOR style item listing mess over having no old fashioned inventory at all.

Mass Effect 1 and Star Wars Kotor had annoying inventory systems. I hated them

Any RPG game that takes more than 30 hours to be completed is fine in my book. No matter what game play style is like but to each their own.... That said this could be nearing Forum lock........

No, Bioware should not stop making games and close up shop because of one game. If that were the case CDProjeckt would have stop making games after the terribly bug-infested the Witcher. The game did not become acceptable and stable until the enhanced edition. Bethesda should have stopped making games after Oblivion which was a disappointment after Morrowind (in some gamers opinion). but it got GOTY.
Yes let us put all of those Bioware employees out of work or have them ship off to different development teams in EA.
Let the party based CRPG die, because I do not see many developers making them. No not CDProjeckT, not Bethesda. Who else is making party based CRPGs?
Yes let Bioware fade away. We all know what a terrible decision DAO was?
So many consider DA 2 to be a bad product. Which is fine. That is a reason to close the business? Well if that is the case I know a whole lot of businesses that need to close because of one bad product.

So long as they release an ME2 for every DA2, I'd prefer they continue to make games. I really need to stop buying them before checking out the reviews, but they should still make them.

The title says it all really.

Bioware has been making an unforgiveable series of snafus over the last few years. Most recently there is the putrid abomination that is Dragon Age 2. Before that was the dumbing down of the Mass Effect series for ME2, along with tossing realism and continuity out the window. Then there is that horrible Sonic the Hedgehog crap. What was the point of that? And what possessed them to allow CDPR to use the Aurora Engine for the Witcher? I bet they are regretting that decision right now. These screw ups all date back to Bioware's decision to consolize their projects starting with KotOR and the Jade Empire games. Bioware should have just stuck with Baldur's Gate...Heck, they never should have broken away from Black Isle. Bioware should just disband and stop making games altogether. Preferably before ME3 is released and they ruin another IP. What do you all think?

Should Zanallen stop making posts?  he has made unforgivable posts with this and I dunno whatever he does thats worth mentioning.
Such lack of intelligence and nothing interesting to read here Zanallen should delete his account before he makes another thread that makes me lose all faith in humanity.

And this is bad why? Serious question, why does them not making RPGs mean they're making bad games and should just give up?

Seriously I can see why you don't like it, but you have to realise that a single person's tastes aren't the best measure of quality. If you don't like bioware's recent games then don't buy them, problem solved. Why does the studio have to shut down to see you satisfied? Why should all their new fans choices and admiration be discarded because you don't like where they're going.

The simple answer is to please the CDProjekt gods.

@Perse: I think the term "fanbase" means "They'll love your previous work. But if you release one(IMO)mediocre game, we'll call you the Anti-christ, instead of trying to contribute to making the next game better"(which some actually are).

I imagine the fanbase is just a bunch of monkeys flinging feces at each other at this point.

Now, how am I the bad guy here? Am I not within my rights to demand perfection from Bioware? And their constant failures just prove that they don't have it within them. It seems obvious to me that they can't compete in today's game market and they should just reel it in. I mean, after a while doesn't it just get sad? There are only so many times you can root for the Washington Generals before you just have to accept that they can't beat the Globetrotters.

LOL any doubts that you were a troll are now gone.  Good job sir you had me for a bit.

what failures have they had anyways? from a a money stand point all there games sell well even Dragon Age II is selling good. Also I'm quite happy with Bioware and I have been buying their games since 2003 and will continue to do so as long as they keep making games that sound good to me

Yes they definitely should.

..

Oh no, not that, other one. Of course they shouldn't! The idea that they should just lay off their hundreds of employees because they aren't making the same games they were a decade ago is just...

*deep breath*

No. If nothing else I'll see TOR finished if I have to fly over to Austin and do it myself.

I was just in a Fry's Electronics today (if you don't know what that is, it's like Best Buy, if Best Buy were actually owned and operated by geeks). They weren't even selling DA2 on the sales floor anymore, it had no shelf space. At the same time, they were selling DAO Ultimate at full price, $49.99. That would indicate to me that DA2 did extremely poorly there, if they cut it from the shelves completely.

And by most estimations of retail sales, DA2 sank like a brick.

What constant failures?

And no, BioWare should absolutely keep making games.

Bioware will stop making games when their sales plummet after too many attempts to rush games out and EA disbands them.

So they will stop making games-eventually.

Bioware are transitioning away from RPGs and into action games. That's all there is to say.

Their action games are usually quite well received at a critical level, and sell many copies.

I appreciate your disappointment that a company that once made great RPGs has decided to not make RPGs anymore, but that's hardly reason for them to close down and stop producing games.

The very notion you though Bioware should stop making games is hilarious. Compared to the list of *sins* and screwups of other beloved game companies, Bioware is practically holy.

The question we should be asking is why they are transitioning. Are rpg's not as profitable for bioware anymore? Do the bioware devs just want to do something else? Is there another reason?

Time will tell.

How many copes of BG 1,2 Kotor, Jade Empire, ME 1, ME2, DAO and DA2 have been sold?

If the more action based rpg have outsold is it really a mystery. (I don't know the figures but EA owns Bioware and EA is a business like any other)

If these 2 accounts didn't have a couple of the same games attached to them I would think you were agreeing with yourself.
Whatever anyone who does agree with you is either an idiot or a troll so yeah.

LOL yeah the OP wants us laughing because I imagine taking him seriously would be a very bad thing for him.
I mean wanting a company to shut down and hundreds of people losing their jobs just because a couple of their games aren't meeting his standards is so absurd and just plain stupid to even suggest.  You want us thinking your a troll OP because the alternative is that your evil.
