Man this thread is hilarious, the funniest thread on BSN for a long time.

I'm forced to agree.

The very notion you though Bioware should stop making games is hilarious. Compared to the list of *sins* and screwups of other beloved game companies, Bioware is practically holy.

The question we should be asking is why they are transitioning. Are rpg's not as profitable for bioware anymore? Do the bioware devs just want to do something else? Is there another reason?

Time will tell.

LOL yeah the OP wants us laughing because I imagine taking him seriously would be a very bad thing for him.
I mean wanting a company to shut down and hundreds of people losing their jobs just because a couple of their games aren't meeting his standards is so absurd and just plain stupid to even suggest.  You want us thinking your a troll OP because the alternative is that your evil.

That's about as bad as a company firing a lot of people because their stocks drop a little...

Pfft, I admitted that this was a troll on the first page.

It is just pathetically easy to rile up people on this forum. I feel sorry for the devs having to deal with a number of the people of these forums.

I feel nothing but contempt for weak-minded fools like those who mindlessly bash a game for epeen points.

Who's bashing games? Personally, I've played every Bioware game from BG on, minus that Sonic thing though that's more because I dislike Sonic more than anything else. I've enjoyed the games, though not exactly in the same manner as most of the people here. KotOR is my favorite Bioware game while NWN and the BG games are probably my least favorite.

With the release of DA2 and the Witcher 2 fanboyism, these forums have become so polarized that almost every thread is riddled with arguments, backhanded compliments and snide comments. Personally, I am tired of defending games while running loops through circlular logic arguments and petty insults. Thus, I have created this thread to showcase the ridiculousness of it all. These are games, people. If you like them, great. If not, chalk it up to a bad experience and move along.

NOOOOOO why did you abandon the facade?

:crying:

I was pleasantly surprised at how successful you were, proving your point on polarity.

But still, it was funny to see people fall for it hook, line and sinker.

It had fallen to the second page and was in jeopardy of getting lost completely. I figured I would officially come clean before that happened. Plus, I can now hope for a whole new set of reactions.

to be clear, I did not mean you, Zan. I meant the witcher fans who took every opportunity to diss bioware for bandwagon points. some witcher fans were more cool-headed about things than others, but I still feel anger and bitterness at them for their childish attempts to incite developer wars.

I didn't like all of the changes they made to ME2, but they improved more than they broke, and I'm expecting ME3 to be better than either.  The thing is, i've played 5 of their games, and DA2 is the only one that I didn't love.  I'm sure they can shape up.

Once again, I feel the need to correct your blatant mis-statements.  The people bashing Dragon Age 2, are Bioware fans.  Some Bioware fans also like The Witcher 2 - and have contrasted the games on various levels.  However, I have yet to see a single Witcher 2 fan, who is not a Bioware fan at all, bash Dragon Age 2 and point out how much better The Witcher 2 is.

The people 'dissing' Bioware are doing so because they regard Dragon Age 2 to be an extremely low quality product - this has little to nothing to do with The Witcher 2.

So, let's be clear:

1) Bioware fans chucked a huge hissy fit when Dragon Age 2 came out.  They complained and moaned on every possible forum all over the internet for weeks.  The disappointment was so much that the Metacritic score ended up being 4.3.

2) The Witcher 2 came out.  For no apparant reason, Bioware fans started posting a collection of 0/10 reviews for The Witcher 2 - perhaps hoping to convince somebody out there that Dragon Age 2 was better?  Or perhaps they were just joking?  Who knows.

So, please direct your comments at Bioware fans, not 'Witcher' fans - exclusive Witcher fans (who are not Bioware fans) have absolutely nothing to do with this.

Oh please, we all know that Bioware makes nothing but consolized pseudo-RPGs that have been getting less and less RPG with each iteration. Other than BG2, have they even made a good sequel to one of their games? And don't even try to say ME2 since it is far more shooter than RPG.

You living under a rock?
Witcher fans have been looking for any excuse to badmouth Bioware long before DA2 even came out.  Whatever either are doing on Metacritic is pointless as Metacritic is a joke.  The simple fact is that a lot of people decided that Witcher 2 was going to be the bestestestetestest game EVAR MADE and any game that even looks like it was going to be compitetion was going down.  NO way in hell is DA2 and Witcher 2 going to get along people made sure of it.

Bioware stop making games? Why? Just cause of one small misstep like Dragon Age 2 (which I thought was an okay game, if a bit lacking)?

And for the record, Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games I've ever played on any system. If Bioware can continue to crank out quality titles like that beautiful masterpiece, I'll not want them stop making games anytime soon.

Really, this thread strikes me as someone taking his Dragon Age 2 b****ing a little far.

I disagree. We should hold weekly rallies in front of each Bioware office and demand quality games. If they refuse, we must strike.

I'm just replaying Witcher 1 Enhanced edition to have a import save for witcher 2 and refresh my memory about the story and witcher universe. I moded the game with enhancred textures & models mods and by god even Witcher 1 is much better compared to DA2 in pretty much every aspect.

On  topic ... no they shouldn't stop making games but they should take a pause, step from their high horse and actually take fan feedback to their hearts, not make games for themselves or try to turn their games into Assassin's Creed or CoD.clones

If their lead designer hates aspects of their past games  the fans love you know there's gonna be trouble.

*Two months and sixteen days after its release, Dragon Age II has still left Bioware fans sour.*
