I'm hoping for something along the lines of blood spatter on walls (that stay there for a while), dead bodies having blood marks and staying on the ground unless affected by a certain type of round, and heads exploding when shot with a sniper rifle. I'm not asking for Cannibal Holocaust or Dead Alive. Or Showgirls for that matter nudity wise. ME should have minor nudity if any so it doesn't get boycotted by the Feminist Moms group of American Media. It was fine how it was in ME1.

^^^How is that as close as it gets? That isn't violence let alone gore.

So, something along the lines of this ME2 shot? i.imgur.com/Se7on.jpg
If that's the case, yeah, that's not off keel for the franchise.

I want to know how many of you would like to see more gore in Mass Effect.
Personally, I wouldn't mind. It doesn't have to be over-the-top, but at least some noticeable damage to the bodies, like a gaping hole in the chest from a shotgun blast, L4D2-style, would be nice.
Exploding heads from sniper shots is kinda trite, but I think it could be a little more dramatic that what we have now.
What do you think?
No thanks, gore get old fast and for me I'd want to turn it off because it would be more annoying than "cool". A good example of how *not* to do gore is DA2 though, there it was taken too far.

The lack of gore in the games is puzzling when the books depict heads being torn apart and mangled limbs.

Bulletstorm right there.

I would rather see Liara's blue butt again than add a bunch of gore. It's funny how the human body is considered perverted and vulgar, yet exploding gore like in DA2 is acceptable. If it's going to be an M rated game any way give me some butts and sideboob!
Sounds like someone needs to play Duke Nukem Forever next month.

As an example, you blow the top of a Husk's head off... but he keeps on coming. That makes the creature feel more relentless, and also makes it a little harder for you to get headshots on him. It makes the experience of the fight with that creature a little more interesting.

oh right, i remember reading something about the husks being able to be blown apart in specific ways. i think there was some sort of big husk with sacks and if you shoot the sacks they pop and robo spiders come at you or something?Brenon Holmes wrote...
We do have a gore system in ME3, however it's something that we're planning to use in a way that accentuates the feeling of combat with certain enemies instead of something that might just be used for shock factor.

Sounds promising. Essentially, gore when it's called for rather than as a shock factor tends to make for the best outcomes. Like with nudity, the player shouldn't get the impression that the developers have taken extraordinary measures neither to put it in nor to keep it out.

How about regular dirt, bullet holes, blood stains, and such? Is there a gore map to keep track of it?

Does gore add to the experience?
If you answered the question with yes, you'd probably want to play other games.
If you answered the question with no, then you'd probably want the ressources put to better use.
Thank you
I answered yes and I do want to play Mass Effect.
Thank you

But is it just the husks, though? In ME2 you could shoot parts off them, but not any other enemies...
