My first playthrough was as a mage and so naturally i sided with the mages at the end. Now I'm doing a warrior playthrough with the intent of siding with the templars, and was wondering which companion setup is most efficient (in terms of reputation with the companions while still having a good balance of powers)? I myself am a 2 handed warrior, so that only other party member for sure I am bringing is Aveline to serve as tank.

You really don't need a tank. Just kill everything as fast as possible. My party members would be Varric/Sebastian, Merrill and Anders.
If you're going nightmare, going with three ranged gives you the freedom to use your abilities without killing your party with your friendly fire. If not playing nightmare, your party really doesn't matter. Take whomever you like for the banter!
