Hi everyone,
So I have had several play throughs on mass effect 1, which is probably my favorite game of all time, and I just recently today finished my last perfect playthrough with the intention of importing it to ME2 and continuing it on there and eventually onto ME3. My problem however is that when I go to my import tool it does not list my latest playthrough and on top of not listing it it shows me a few playthroughs that do not even appear on my hardrive, so I would like to know why those playthroughs are showing up and how I can get my most recent and desired ME1 save file into ME2, thanks you all for any help you can provide.

Check your storage device, did you save the file on your 360 hard drive or on another storage device? If you saved it on another storage device, you can select it when your choosing to import a character,

Some of the files it shows on my hard drive our repeats of previous save files, just by completing the game on that one file
Also if you beat ME1 once, your hard drive will permanently save it forever

Hope that helps :)

How many end game save files do you have? Do you have 11? If so, there is a limitation of the ME1 save system that only lets you import the first 11 completed games. See here for reference.

There is a way to clear all of your old game complete files, but it requires you to have a USB stick to transfer them off of your hard drive. See my instructions here.

If you do that, all you will need to do is load your ME1 save file right before Saren, kill his ass, then create your one perfect save file on your hard drive.

the game creates a hidden endgame save file (used for newgame+ and imports to 2) just after Shepard staggers out of the rubble (before the Udina/Anderson scene) with a date/time stamp matching that of the mid-Saren fight autosave.
As it is hidden you won't see it on your hard drive (and so it can linger on after deleting the normal saves for a career)
