 Okay, well since video games SUCK so bad these days, and i think that KoToR might just be the greatest game of all time, i have decided to pick up on playing it again on my mac :P well... only problem is, i dont remember a damn thing about this video game! haha, so i was hoping if anyone can give me a good general build for either a:
DS/Consular build - more for the force powers
LS/Guardian build - more for the combat
If anyone can tell me the more fun way to paly thatd be awesome, and aside that the best way to go about building this character... that is if im not the only lost soul on the planet still playing this game haha. THANKS!  :D

I've never strictly followed a "build," but I do follow the basics, as I think making my own each time is the most fun. I'll tell my personal guidlines(from memory).

Lightside Guardian
Soldier gives more health and Feats.
Start with relatively high strength. Moderate Constitution. Charisma and Wisdom don't directly affect melee. They can be improved later for the few Force Powers you'll need.

Then you can branch one of two ways; being a robe-wearing Jedi or an armor-wearing Jedi.
For a normal Jedi, you want moderate to high Dexterity. Just not too high to start because of limitations placed by armors.
Armored Jedi can only use Stun Droid (levels1-2), Heal(1-3), Push/Wave(1-3), Choke(DS), Force Persuade, and SaberThrow(1-3). Low Dexterity for this because heavy armor usually have a +1/+2 limit. Noone trying to be maximally effective should use this, it is just a personal favorite of mine.

Don't take any Blaster or sword related Feats, as you will not need them very long. Try to get melee centric one's (flurry, critical).

Then you're a Jedi. Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity are still important.
Get lightsaber/melee centric feats. Get the top few rows of Lightside and Universal powers as you see fit. Definately Speed. I like the Push's because they can be use from range against multiple enemies. You will have Jedi companions which can utilize most powers better than you can, so you can just leave them out.

And that's the extent of my suggestions. If needed, you can find much more detailed guidlines at Gamefaqs. In particular:
http://www.gamefaqs....blic/faqs/24519

[Edit]
P.S.  This definately is the best game of all time.
P.P.S  There are other builds such as "blaster Jedi," but anything other than regular lightsaber and robes is not usually done.
P.P.P.S  I recommend not using guides as I find following my gut leads to more enjoyment.

In addition, get either dual wield, or single weapon to maximist your damage, and I feel that a robe wearing Jedi will be better due to the Drain Life and the Lightning that are very useful.

To Jack: It will take several hours to get off Taris, and then another few to leave Dantooine. Then you need to go to Korriban, all taking about 10 hours [or so].

Well for a good soldier/guardian build you can follow this one: http://www.gamefaqs....blic/faqs/32061

This build is instanded for a hardcore solo on Hard difficulty so it just make teamplay increadibly easy.

here are the importante lines:

Starting Stats:

lvl7 soldier/13 Guardian

STR = 14
DEX = 14
CON = 14
INT = 8
WIS = 14 19 end game (this is where you dump your stats pts while leveling)
CHA = 14

Try to boost your wis as much as possible if your soloing (will help your force power a lot)
Get a Dex implant. If your patying with this build you could use +str over +Wis items since
you'll have other Jedi to use Force Power.

Skill: Treat injury if you intend to go the solo route otherwise Persuade is nice to have for the ingame side quest especialy if your going Light Side

Feat distribution:

Feat Progression
----------------

Char level - which feat to get
1 - Dueling level 1 (just help at low lvl useless for end-game)
2 - Toughness level 1
3 - Flurry level 1
4 - Toughness level 2
5 - Flurry level 2
6 - Implant level 1
7 - Implant level 2
8 - Toughness level 3
10 - Flurry level 3
13 - Two Weapon Fighting level 1
14 - Two Weapon Fighting level 2
16 - Two Weapon Fighting level 3
19 - Implant level 3
20 - Lightsaber Specialization level 2

Don,t use flurry 1, when your getting beaten on the penalty it give is too big IMO. But flurry 2
usualy do the trick and flurry3 is insane.

If you don,t go the solo way you don,t realy need +thoughness if you see something else that could please you.

Force Power Progression (LS)
----------------------------

Char level - which Force Power to get
8 - Cure level 1 and Force Push level 1 (<-- Stick to this!)
9 - Force Push level 2 (<-- Stick to this!)
10 - Stun Droid level 1
11 - Force Speed level 1
12 - Force Speed level 2
13 - Force Valor level 1
14 - Force Resist level 1
15 - Force Push level 3 (<-- Stick to this!)
16 - Force Speed level 2
17 - Force Speed level 3
18 - Force Valor level 3
19 - Force Armor level 1
20 - Force Armor level 2

Stun droid is useless if your not soloing (get it on another toon) personaly even for my
solo game I went with affect mind to help to deal with my 0 persuade skill.

For a non-solo game I wouldn't even take cure personaly. It is useless when you have a
jedi in your group with more force power then a guardian and cure 2. And well I barely use cure 1
in my solo game.

Also just use an heavy armor till you get force power requiring a robe. Their is no use
for a 1def robe vs a 8def heavy armor befour you get Force speed 2

Also don,t go the dual weild/double-bladed saber till you get two weapon fighting 2 and well either
2 good light saber or a good double-bladed saber. The penalty is too big.

This guy is so tough that bringing teamate sometimes even cripple you, The other 3 jedi you can team with
just seem to loose health so fast sometimes they just spand their time self-healing if
you don't manualy control them all.

It is perfectly possible to complete Taris without ever levelling up so you can maximise your Jedi levels. The hardest part under that scenario is the Arena. Grenades are your friend.
