Squad control.

Missions against that weird flying husk are more difficult and annoying because squad members can't be told what to do properly. If you tell them to go one place and then go to the opposite side of the map they will follow you, get hit by the weird flying husk, and die. This is annoying, to say the least.

I can only imagine that you are referring to the Praetorian.  There is a distance limit for squadmates.  If you stray too far from them, they run or teleport to your location.  Mass Effect 3 may address this, as levels are supposed to be larger and more sprawling, but I don't think anything has been confirmed.

I think they should only teleport/go back to Shepard if there's no fighting going on. Otherwise, I think they should stay where I tell them to stay.

You ought to see how they act when playing a Vanguard.....

You put them in a good spot, and give them sniper rifles to have overwatch then start Charging around the map while they mop up and provide support up until the warp to you get blasted and die. Or they decide they just have to get out of cover and run forward, while 5 guys are blasting away at them, of course they die. It gets so frustrating when you can't tell them to stay and have them F__KING STAY!!!!

It is also annoying that when you finally get used to them ignoring you, they don't one map and hold way in the back leaving you to face a horde all on your own.....which they wouldn't do 5 minutes ago...........I usually die when this happens.

Yes this was highly annoying, with the Praetorian fights it could be a nightmare trying to take down it's armor when squadmates kept being lemmings and getting close to it all the time which meant it would do it's melee attack and regenerate barriers all the time.

With ME3's 'big big levels' I'm worried it means less cover for squadmates to hide from getting slaughtered. Sometimes you just want them for their powers and not their weapon damage so yes I can only hope they've managed to do something to improve the AI.

ME3 will have high vantage points, though.

So I hope I can tell squadmates to climb ladders and whatnot to a higher position in order to give me cover while I move forward.

Shouldn't be too hard to force squadmates to stay put indefinitely. Just make the 'C' button (pc) the true re-group button - pressing it will either have squadies move towards Shepard, or teleports em back (when they're too far away).

Never really understood what to do with this button anyway.
