We NEED a toolset this time, folks. Dragon Age 1 was epic because of it.
At the very least, it gave you the ability to edit your saved games.
I'd like to see an interior editor that functions exactly like Neverwinter
Night's did, but with layers, so you can have multiple levels in the
dungeon. It was a pain in the hiney to have to manually place each
piece of wall and make sure there were no gaps. Dragging your cursor to
create a room, a path, a door way, etc was just so much easier and more
enjoyable. Ceilings should be automatically generated, by the way. At
which point, there should be a way to select the room and go into
'ceiling properties' to choose the height and style of the ceiling.
I'd like the exterior editor to be as easy and powerful to use as Dawn of
War II's map editor. Basically, you pre-define your base ground texture
and your cliff texture and then you can effortlessly paint mountains
and rivers to your heart's content. Then, at any time, you can go grab
more textures and paint them over the terrain to make it more rich and
diverse. Dropping in units and doodads is a piece of cake too.
Also, PLEASE do not separate the level and area editor any more. In NWN1 you
had them one and the same and that was ridiculously easy to use.
I would be sooo happy if you guys made the editor just like you did
NWN1's. Even for non-builders, it would greatly extend the lifespan of
the game if so many people were able to easily and effectively create
fun add-on adventures.
