Nothing ground breaking and certainly nothing you couldn't tell by playing the game, but I saw this interview with  voice director Ginny McSwain, who has worked on many past BioWare titles including ME1, ME2 and DA.

I'll just quote the relevant Dragon Age 2 bit:

Retroplayer- Ginny, there has been some negative fan reaction to the writing quality and relatively short development  time on Dragon Age 2. On your end of things did you notice any  differences in quality compared to Dragon Age: Origins and were you  given less time to record the dialogue?

Ginny- Yes, I agree.  I was only  involved in spurts of the recording on DA 2…I didn’t get a chance to get involved with the story as I had before.  Recordings appeared to be  fast and furious, and it was definitely not the same experience as when I was working on a higher-quality level with another director.

Nothing new really, but you add it with what Inon Zur said and its just more evidence that for whatever reason, this game got chucked out the door as fast as possible.

Alright. Either you guys can cut it out with the back and forth insults and the petty bickering, or I can lock this thread, hand out bans and hope that the idea of respectfully disagreeing might finally sink in for some of you.

I leave the choice up to you.

Awesome, reminds me of elementary school. You guys don't shy away from locking topics so be my guest.

I haven't seen any insulting, or is troll an insult now? Bickering is the meat and potato of every forum, you should know that much.

The way it's used on this forum? Yes, I'd consider troll an insult. Same with counter-troll. And just because some discussions degenerate into 'no, YOU'RE the one with the wrong opinions', doesn't excuse it when others do the same.

All I've asked at any point is that discussion be civil and opinions be shared in a fashion that -promotes- civil discussion. Nothing more, nothing less.

I certainly don't think I'm asking all that much here.

Plenty of threads to lock with worse insults than this one. Seems you are just looking for an excuse to lock it for a different reason.

But you have the button, its your choice not ours.

In fact I'm hoping that my early intervention will prevent me from having to lock a thread. If you can get to a thread before it ends up too far off the beaten path, you can usually keep it from needing a lock.

I would imagine the many, many threads that are less-than-praiseful of DA2 that remain open would suggest that I do not, in fact, look for reasons to lock threads but hey. To each their own.

And folks, please remember that images do not replace discourse. We're trying to keep the amount of spam images used in posts to a minimum - I'd appreciate it if everyone followed that guideline.
