I purchased and downloaded Return to Ostagar a while ago, but it remains in the Installed Content list as "Disabled" because it apparently needs a newer version than the one I have.
Except I can't figure out how to get a newer version.
Restarting the computer doesn't fix it.
I've looked around in the forum and saw something about running the updater, but I can't figure out how to do that. I also tried installing the 1.03 patch but that doesn't seem to have worked correctly. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I've also downloaded and installed the Blood Dragon Armor and The Stone Prisoner, but I haven't had any problems with those.
My DAO is an original release retail disc, version 1.00.
If anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

On the launcher before you hit "Play" the bottom bar should say something about Patch XX is available now! Click that, it'll take you to the patch D/L page, download 1.04 and follow the instructions there.

I have DA Ultimate
I triggered the Return to Ostagar and it is in my Current Quests under Premium Content.
Ostagar does not appear on my World Map.
I have no trouble with Soldiers' Keep or Shale.
Return to Ostagar is 'Enabled' on my Downloadable Content list
The first time through the game I played it at Easy level and everything went as it is supposed to. I got to Ostagar and completed it.
This time I am playing at normal level.
Doea anyone have any suggestions? Thank you

Ostagar itself is not showing up, or the initial start site for the quest is not showing up? Bann Loren's land (or something like that) appears first up near the Circle Tower on the map. Ostagar itself won't show up until after you have visited the first location. If it is enabled and the quest is active, then the DLC is activating correctly.
Another possibility is a conflicting mod. Some of the community content projects that alter/add to the world map can cause odd glitches with map locations in the rest of the game.

Many thanks for your reply. I meant to say that I did 'travel' to Bann Loren's land and talked with Erik(?) who told me about the quest. Then the quest appeared in my Premium Quests urging me to go to Ostagar. But there is no Ostagar on my map. I have not knowingly applied any 'mods' to the game. If that happened, is there anything that will fix it.

You would know if you modded the game, so that is one possible cause down. I will assume that you tried exiting the game and re-starting and that did not resolve the issue. (if you haven't, try it) I would suggest loading a save before you went to Bann Loren's lands and triggering the quest again. If you are comfortable using the developer console, you could transport yourself there and/or correct the variable that is causing the location not to appear. There are extensive console directions on the Dragon Age Wiki. A fresh install of the DLC might help if that fails. After that, I'm fresh out of ideas.

Once again, many thanks for your help. I have, indeed, been many times out and in again. I have also completely shut down the machine a couple of times. I'm fairly good at following directions so I probably could use the developer console (long, long ago, I had wizard privs on a rogue install). It might be fun to try and I could always re-install everything. Before that, I'll try going back to an earliler save. I'll let you know how I make out.
