Witcher 2 will not win many goty awards, it's too much of an indie title. Not even that many publications have reviewed Witcher 2. AAA titles like Fable got about 3 times as many reviews in the same time span.
Whether it's better or worse than Witcher 2, Skyrim is going to win far more goty awards simply because it will be reviewed more.
Fable got more reviews and a lower score just saying.
błahahahahahahahah.... Skyrim maybe but Fable?
Sadly, DA2 will get RPG of the year...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Dark Souls in this thread. That's the RPG that I'm anticipating the most for this year.
Man Demon's Soul was great best online ever. Witcher 2 combat is similar to it which is great because it just adds to the difficulty.

Dragon Age 2 got in between average and good reviews but I doubt it will get an award like that, unless for some reason there aren't any other good Rpgs that come out this year, but I reckon Skyrim will reap the award.

I have to agree with it will probably win though mop the floor is bit much imho and more likley if it's a vote based system then will be around I'm guessing 1/3rd ahead of Witcher 2 in votes. However if by some unforseen circumstance it gets delayed for polishing until early 2012 then I think the Witcher 2 will win. If it doesn't get delayed then yes I think Skyrim will win. DA2 will not win unless EA buys the judging panal or voters.
I think Deus Ex could beat Witcher 2 if it's well executed. Not saying it would be the better game, but the production values are higher and design elements are very similar insofar as both would be action RPGs with some variable dialogue choice, no party, etc.
Witcher 2 has an excellent engine, fun quests, great branching content.... but a well-executed Deus Ex will get a lot more critical praise if it's executed well. IMO.

My prediction: TW2 will sell twice as many copies as DA2 has before this year has ended. At a bare minimum.
You think it will outsell DA:O? It's a great game, but it doesn't have the polish DA:O had, and I think that will hurt it. It's also released on a single platform. It's a mixed bag how Witcher 2 would do on consoles - it's not the most polished game, like I said, and it doesn't play like a hack & slash game at all. Then again, DA:O played like garbage (IMO) on the consoles compared to the PC, so who knows.

I think it has way more Polish than DA2.

It has more polish than DA2, (and potentially more Polish, too). But to easily double DA2's sales would mean 2 million units on the PC this year alone. I'm skeptical.

I'm also drooling for skyrim though as Its a project with great ambition. I keep my fingers crossed that Benthesa will deliver a worthy sequel to Morrowind.
Deus Ex human revolution is also a worthy candidate. I truly hope they manage to capture the orginal Deus Ex feeling.

All I know is Bioware have way more staff than CDProject yet CDProject have wayyyyy more passion which they have showed by creating a masterpiece!
PC gaming at its peak!
They may have the crossfire/sli perf prob due to the drm but who doesnt?
They are gonna release a patch fixing those probs this week!
1 WEEK AFTER THE GAME HAS RELEASED
NOT 1 MONTH!

You honestly think TW2 is worse than DA2, and that TW2 won't be nominated while DA2 will??
Ahahahahahahahahahaha...hahahahaha...ha......ehhem...hahahahahaha...
Made my day!
TW2 is absolute garbage. The combat system, the magic and alchemy haven't been improved at all. In fact, it's more frustrating, annoying and anti intuitive. Dragon Age 2 has somehow managed to be better despite having a billion flaws.
Yes, in your holy opinion. Which is fine. You are absolutely entitled to believe that TW2 is garbage if you like.
I personally, if I had to rate the two games at the moment, would probably give DA2 a 5/10 and TW2 a 9.5/10.
But, neither of our personal opinions are of any consequence whatsoever when it comes to RPG of the year.
TW2 has been universally received as a dramatically superior game to DA2 - many reviewers directly point out how terrible DA2 is by comparison.
That anybody could actually believe that DA2 would win RPG of the year over TW2, from a critical reviewer point of view (assuming that one of them would win in the first place...) is incredibly laughable - thus the making of my day
I would love to see it get GOTY just to say "And so it begins....." before the internet implodes under the weight of monumental flame wars that will erupt.
On a more serious not DA2 flits from mediocre to down right awful at times. Whereas from the few hours that I have played on TW2 it is a very solid game, definately in a 9 so far, there are some issues, but i haven't found that they detract from the game, although I could change my mind.
I don't think any "professional" critic would consider DA2 as GOTY, and expect to be taken seriously ever again. Even PCgamer has had to publish an alternative review of DA2, as the disparity between their original and the fan's reaction has been so great.

No?

Skyrim will have to try real hard on story since Oblivion sucked at it HARD. Good thing modders were able to salvage the rest of the game though. Still, Nords and Skyrim thats something I always wanted to see in the TES game and I cant wait to play it
Wait, main story of Oblivion is pretty good.

No it's not being on Bioware forums I assume you played at least one of their games. Bioware is much better with story.
